  1. He means the Cit II, not the CJ. The last version of the Cit II is 1.5
  2. Another one that found about Simbrief today. After toying with it i´m really impressed (and quite glad i didn´t spend my bucks in a new shinier planner), it looks identical to those flight plans i see in World Air Routes videos. Amazing program, many thanks!
  3. Took the words out of my mouth.
  4. Really really happy to see Eaglesoft back in action again ^_^
  5. Hope they can pull it off, still remember the XSimulate DC-10 and how good it looked :(
  6. Just like gandy says, you can use it with any tipe of terrain addon. FS Altitude only works at a certain distance from your aircraft. This means your plane is at the center of a circle of "x" radius. Inside this circle you won´t ever see FS Altitude textures, only the photoscenery/whatever terrain you have for the area (or default terrain if you have nothing). This circle always has the same radius and stays in the ground, so the higher you go, the smaller it becomes and the more you see of FS Altitude. Once you are at FL30 and similar, you really need to contort your head out of the cockpit to see the circle down there without FS Altitude (or just go to external view and see directly down) so it works really well for those flights, the effect is very convincing (even more if you use weather). Once you start to descend the "void zone" circle obviously gets bigger the lower you go, showing whatever terrain you use for the area you are in. With the old megascenery earth based on tiles you could get only those tiles near the airports and let FS Altitude take care of the cruise (and it was not coincidence that those airports usually rested in the conjunction of 4 tiles ). For flying low and slow it´s better to disable FS Altitude altogether (one entry in the scenery library for each product). Mountains outside the "void zone" will show FS Altitude textures, noticeable even standing on the ground. But it´s just two clicks to enable/disable it. For me it´s the perfect photoscenry for high altitude flying, one DVD for Europe, two for USA (plus caribbean) and another for Australia. Try covering an entire continent with normal photoscenery...
  7. For me normal photoscenery is overkill for commercial flying in the high flight levels. I use FS Altitude and find it just the right thing for that. When i´m flying lower and slower i switch to regular photoscenery. And agree that you should try both. People usually is entrenched in one of the two alternatives and stick to that for their FS world (photoscenery junkies like me or "give me terrain with autogen" people).
  8. Eagerly awaiting Simcheck´s FMC addon for their superb A300. It´s taking a while tho... Was Milviz the one doing the metroliner? Add that to the list also.
  9. I have loved this plane since i read an article in the local newspaper about some spanish basketball teams and their travels around the country in the metro. Yep, basketball players (who had totally forbidden any movement out of their seats and were seven levels of cramped inside the Metro). The article was beyond funny to read, but it was obvious those teams were terrorized by the plane (nicknamed "the mosquito" for the sound of the engines). It offered fast travel compared to a bus, but everyone was fearing for his life the moment the plane took off. Bring me a good "Mosquito" please, can´t wait to make some flights carrying spanish basketball teams
  10. The MD-11 is pure 100% unadulterated FSX code, nothing was ported from the FS2004 version because FSX version came first, then it was adapted for FS9. Seems there´s still quite some confusion about this point, and i wonder how it influences/influenced the product´s sales. You don´t get this confusion with their later products so dropping FS9 may have been worthwile for them. Not arguing with you btw, just commenting on something that caught my attention some time ago (the belief that the MD-11 is a port).
  11. Thanks, i was hoping it was the 30 series so no complaints at all
  12. Can anyone refresh me regarding wich series this DC-9 will be? I guess it´s either -30 or -50 series, but for the life of me i can´t find any information about this in this thread or the Coolsky website.
  13. If i remember correctly FADEC wasn´t implemented yet when the CJ1+ was published (could be mistaken and it´s another thing) and was being worked on. Would like to know if this has been completed, was awaiting for this to buy the plane (meanwhile a very happy Citation X pilot). And agree about the comments regarding VC. You made a gigantic leap in system programming with the Citation X, and pulled it off really well. But people will always point to the weakest link of the chain and in your case that´s the VC right now (and i would say the only weak link on your products). It´s no problem for me, but obviously it is for other people. Get an upgrade to those cockpits and you will have really solid products, in a segment barely covered by any developer.

Hope they can overcome the Airbus Curse and deliver a good product. Guess afterwards they could make the 318, 319 and 321 in a much shorter timespan with all the foundation work done.
  15. Yep, turning the scenery on/off is via library. One entry for each of the products, very fast and simple.Regarding second question, clouds fog and those things will help no doubt. The main problem in vanilla FSX terrain is its browness, everything looks semidesertic or muddy. If the scenery adds more variables depending the location (farmlands in Kansas for example, or forests in west washington state that turn into farmland going east) it will blend better with FS Altitude, who will depict farmlands in Kansas and forests in west washington that turn into farmland when you go east. Being this photoscenery nut i haven´t bothered with other terrain programs, so you can figure what i get when i descend in non-photoscenery zone: a disgusting brown/sandy mess. Terrain programs that emulate certain geographic zones with a modicum of sense no doubt will atenuate this clash, altought it won´t be as nice as having more detailed photoscenery that matches (colour tone varying) exactly what it´s there.
  16. Yep, it works that way. An advantage of FS Altitude related to Megascenery Earth is that it allows you to pick only those tiles adjacent to the airports you are using, the rest is taken care of via FS Altitude.
  17. I use FS Altitude Europe, have all of them but my flying is mainly in the old continent. This product is a low res photoscenery that looks ok when at high altitudes and with the usual distance haze etc...from meteo. If you are in the cockpit and glance in the windows the effect works and you get a (to me) very convincing photoscenery that covers a huge territory. If you use another more detailed photoscenery (like simsavy, or in my case Switzerland Pro and VFR Germany) it blends very well, there can be color changes from one product to another but if you are into photoscene you will stomach that no problems. On low altitudes you will get the default/ high definition photo, and the more you clomb the more FS Altitude will show up. It´s quite a specialized product, only useful when at high altitudes. VFR/low and slow flyers flee from this product asap! Now regarding cons, first thing it has no seasons. If you use non-photoscenery terrain you will get funny results in winter for example, with snowy terrain that changes into green and lush terrain the more you climb. Conversely, photosceneries blend well with FS Altitude, but non photo terrain not very good, changes are very noticeable and there´s a great disparity, most noticeable when you start descending and FS Altitude starts receding.Another con, it´s quite low res. It works (atleast for me, careful examination of pictures/videos highly recommmended) but it works only at high altitudes, and as long as you don´t start to change to outside cameras to get fancy photos. Other photosceneries mask this, but when using default terrain if you look down you will see the transitions between different terrains. In winter (remember no seasons) it can be even worse. I never get out of the cockpit, don´t give a damn about taking photos so it works for me, but not everyone will accept this.Third con: no night lighting. If you want to fly at dusk/night, you will have to disable it period. Else you will fly in pitch black terrain, except under the aircraft where the normal terrain will show up.So there, hope this helps (i think i don´t leave anything out). It´s a very specialized product, it has shortcomings and definitely it´s not for everyone. I´m a photoscenery junkie and to me it´s a nice way of having huge expenses of photoscenery without needing terabytes of data. It has its shortcomings indeed, and for USA maybe i would meditate about using Simsavy instead (both can work together).
  18. No autothrottle either (as the real aircraft), if what you pretend is to leave the plane flying on it´s own while you sleep/do the dishes/whatever.
  19. All analog. if you want modern FMC you better get the Super 80 Pro.
  20. Wow, the weather hazard package sounds awesome, will download it as soon as possible. Can´t remember being worried about weather since...Flight Unlimited 3?Was very happy with FS Captain before, but it keeps improving. Way to go!
  21. I´m going to wait. I prefer those old generation 737s over the NG ones but first i must know how the night lihghting is (if it´s developed by Feelthere their last ERJ was very lacking here and a no-go for me) and also the systems fidelity. I don´t ask for a PMDG ultraacurate approach but i expect all systems functioning as they should, with no shortcuts taken. Will check all reviews about this one, and surely will ask a lot of questions before giving my money. I really hope it fills my expectations.
  22. Will have to try this one, i´m somewhat puzzled by the wildly different reviews: either is a masterpiece or their absolute worst! It doesn´t make sense to me.
  23. What about jetways? I see the one in the video isn´t used. Maybe an advantage of AES, or maybe a feature not implemented yet.
  24. Alt+ENTER (switch to windowed mode), alt+ENTER (back to full screen with the image showing again).
  25. Just so amazing...those CRT screens blow my mind, it looks like i could touch the glass there.
