Help with scenery

Featured Replies

Have downloaded BlueSky Scenery for KLAS and love the scenery except the airports. Have attached a pic of klas and you can see I guess he just used a photo and the planes are part of the texture files. Is there a way to edit the Airports to get rid of the drawn in Planes and Get back the taxiways and such. Thanks

You probably should double check with the BlueSky folks but such aircraft are not normally "drawn" into the scenery. They are usually in one or more separate bgl files - often with static as a part of the file name.I would check the scenery subfolder for KLAS and see if there are any files like that and if so, move them into a temporary folder so they will not be used.

No , these arn't static AC, you can drive right over them. Like I said it looks like he took a photo of KLAS when there was a plane sitting there. I don't know how Photo scenery is done but that plane is a drawing IN the taxiway.

Those planes cannot be removed unless you have the original air photo and can air brush them out.

Well,if you read the FAQ first then this topic wouldn't be here :biggrin:Anyway, dial 117.0 into the NAV2 receiver to get rid of it.

YES I DID read it. And yes it will get rid of the ones on the taxiway but it does not get rid of the ones drawn on the runway such as at KLAX!!!!!!!!!!!

The FAQ from BSS sitehttp://www.blueskyscenery.com/faq.html

Q: I tried the scenery at night and there are no lights even on the runways. Is there a way to make the night lighting work with this scenery? A: Yes, dial 117.0 into the NAV2 receiver. This disables the hi-res textures on the airport and makes all RW-lighting visible again. Unfortunately at default FS airports the lights are at flat at zero altitude and hence covered by the hi-res textures. But it's not that bad because at night the hi-res textures are of no use anyway. I recommend dialing 117.0 into NAV2 while on the gound too. So you can enjoy undisturbed homogenous textures while in the air and taxiways etc while on the ground.

Well,it works for me,the airport's photoreal textures are completely gone including the runway,taxiway..Oops,I tested only at KLAS which I thought was your problem, I don't know about KLAX though.

My bad...guess I need to read more. I assume then its switching with another air photo minus planes. So the developer air brushed them out at one point?

That answers my question too. Yes we should read the FAQ but we prefer to fly... ;-)Daniel
