February 8, 201115 yr Hey guys,I downloaded the FSX versions of the POSKY 777 models and installed them, only to see that they apparently have no VC. Did I download the wrong files, or should I keep using the FS9 models to have a VC? February 9, 201115 yr Author What do you mean? Use the FS9 model in FSX? Or do you mean install the VC into the FSX model? I mainly use the FSX model because they were available. I wasn't even sure that it's really necessary. February 9, 201115 yr If you already have the FSX mdl file installed it's fairly straightforward, provided you're comfortable with editing text files. Guides on how to do this can be found by searching these forums or Googling (fsx merge vc). This give you the info that you need to merge a virtual cockpit with another FSX plane. You could use the default 737's VC as a donor to get you started.
February 9, 201115 yr In order to get the POSKY 777 VC to work in FSX you need several things:1. POSKY FSX model & interior model2. FS9 Boeing 777 gauges3. msvcr70.dllYou can do the merge yourself following any of the many good tutorials that are available online.Another option is to download a complete aircraft/vc merge that some nice person has already taken the time to do and upload. For example, you could use one of these: http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=fsx+posky+777+united&x=0&y=0 to get started, then just add textures for any additional aircraft that you would like.Hope that helps.
February 9, 201115 yr Hello guy's Benjamin I believe is talking about Model designer Hiroshi Igami specific made model's for flight simulator x. which don't contain the vc only the plane itself, only some of the fs9 models contain the vc model. we would have to ask Hiroshi about the fsx models not having the vc in it. I took a look at the read me for the fsx 777 test model heres what was listed as fixed for fsx, but unfortunately they don't contain the virtual cockpit.Project Opensky 777 FSX TEST model GE90 Model (OSX772V2_GE90) R2Update at Revision21.Fixed Window and glass Transparency.2.Fixed the gear (I missed using the 200LR as a base so ... used wrong gear for 777-200,300)3.Fixed the missing parts on the Right inboardLE Slat4.Removed small polygon floating on air near the L2 door. Yes, that's indeed what I was talking about: Hiroshi made models specifically for FSX of his 777, but they don't seem to contain a VC. So there is no way to get the POSKY VC to work in the FSX models? By the way, what's actually the problem with the FS9 POSKY models? What is it about them that they apparently need a FSX version to work in FSX? February 9, 201115 yr Author Those that you use are the FS9 models. If they are for FSX, FSX is written in the download link. Those with VC in the link, don't have FSX in the link, so they must be FS9 files. Nevertheless, I'll simply use those files and get rid of the FSX files, just to see how the FS9 models look in FSX. Can't be that bad... Anyways, the fs9 ones work fine and you can make their vc work in fsx. Alfredo Terrero
February 9, 201115 yr Author I can now report that the VC works okay. However, afdter some time, some gauges seem to disappear, along with some buttons. I'm not sure why this happens... For the rest it all looks okay. It might be related to the PSS777 gauges which I managed to get working in FSXEDIT: Solved that last problem to. kjjj11223344, you are my hero. Thanks for that 9-step quide you posted in the thread you linked to! I now finally have my PSS/POSKY 777 merge ported to FSX, and it all seems to work for as far as I can see. Just one problem: FPS is really quite bad when compared to the all other "official" FSX aircraft I have (LDS767, Leonardo Maddog, QW757).
