February 13, 201115 yr The red is going to take getting used to. It sure was a surprise which is exactly what Boeing was going for! It will be nice to see her in the sun and in the air! Mike Keigley
February 13, 201115 yr The red I think will help people who do not follow aviation as close as we here do know that "Hey, this is ANOTHER new plane from Boeing." If they just rolled it out in an exact or similar livery as the Dreamliner has been, it would get lost. Now I think it can have its own identity. And it looks brilliant to boot. February 13, 201115 yr I love the red colour and her overall look as well and its interesting how Boeing have replaced the traditional winglets with raked wingtips instead. Another interesting note on this new bird is that the noise footprint will be 30% less than her counterparts like the 747-400 which mean she will be able to fly in and out of major international airports 24 hours a day which will be really interesting. Some groundbreaking stuff happening here! Best Regards Paul Norris
February 14, 201115 yr The red is nice, like the blue. They are the same on those beautiful Boeing's style planes...watch out the engine cowl, it's amazing...No way, but the 787, the 747-8 are so grace, not like the "ugly monster" (cough...A380...cough)Cheers, Paolo Fumagalli "Everyday is a new flight, with new system to learn, new failures to prevent and new database to update..."
February 14, 201115 yr Starting around 36:30 into the webcast replay, some Boeing bigwig talks about the new red livery. Steve Perry PMDG Beta Team
