February 19, 201115 yr Hi all, please help. i have read all the forums and followed all of the install instuctions but whenever i try to start a flight i click enable and it begins to initialize for around 1 second and then everytime it comes up with "fatal error, disable VOX ATC" i am using FSX on XP.All help is greatly apprreciated.Happy flying
February 19, 201115 yr Hi, Have you run the VoxATC indexer at least once? What SAPI voices do you have installed and what SAPI voices have you selected for VoxATC to use? Do you have any other SAPI-using addons that you are trying to run at the same time - such as Multi Crew Experience, or perhaps It's Your Plane? (I'm not sure if IYP uses SAPI, but IIRC it does.) I use MCE and FSX on Vista64, and when I initially started runing VoxATC, I would on occassion get those Fatal Errors too. Then I installed the freeware VoxPop voices and allocated them to VoxATC and used my other SAPI voices for MCE. Since then I've not had any more Fatal Error - at least any more frequently than general FSX crashes. If these random thoughts don't help, I'd recommend emailing [email protected] with as many details as you can provide. (There should be a file on your system with the name err.log that might contain more details - on my system it's in my \user\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Internal Workings\VoxATC X\ folder.)

For me it sloooowly loads the voices and plays "Test," "Test," "Test" ad infinitum. That takes several minutes for me as I'm usually launching FSX at the same time.I'm thinking you may have to send your error log and details to the developer....Regards,

I'm guessing for the most part, but it should be somewhere similar to that. Perhaps another XP user could verify? And also i have not yet registerd FSUIPC does that matter to the operation of VOXATC?? thank youI don't think that would matter, but I long ago registered mine so I can't say for certain.I ran a search for "fatal error" in this forum and it came up with a few other things to consider - most of them over a year old so I'm not certain if any would apply to the current version though. If you haven't already, you might try doing that while waiting for a reply.Good luck,

The screen in the manual is probably only in need of updating.... :(

February 22, 201115 yr Author hi there mhlarsen, it happens with all aircraft and all flight plans to all airports. even the vox atc demo flights.thank you
February 23, 201115 yr I suggest writing an email to the support since they can give you a small tool which logs the whole VoxATC process and the corresponding actions. This will help finding the origin of that fatal error.
February 23, 201115 yr Author Hi coolp, thank you for your input. i have done that but have not yet heard from them. i look forward to finding out what the problem is so i can help anyone in a similar situation in the future.
