High quality GA airports?

Featured Replies

I found an old topic from 2008: The Need for High Quality GA Airports - unfortunately, the topic died out in 2008 and all of the links to GA airports are bad.Does anyone have an up to date list of GA airports? I'm particularly interested in Montgomery Field, Gillespie Field, Borrego, etc. Thanks

I am unaware of any detailed GA airports for San Diego. I live close to Gillespie Field. We have a hangar there, and I did start working on it back in my FS9 days. I still have the gmax models, and I was able to get an airport layout plan from the county that is very detailed. Perhaps after I get past the current projects I'm working on I'll get back into working on KSEE.

I too live close to Montgomery Field in San Diego and would be willing to take photos of the facility for anyone that has the talent and inclination to develop any airport in the San Diego area. I am a member of the SimFlite Flight simulation group here in San Diego and we are the largest group in the Southern California area. Visit our website at www.simflite.com for more information and post on our forum any requests for help in this project. We have members all over the County that would be willing to assist in this endeavor from Ramona, Brown Field, Montgomery Field, Oceanside, Palomar, etc. Cheers. fisheye

I've been developing some photorealistic scenery for a few months now (mostly NM) but have just started to dabble in airport design as well. I live in San Diego and would love to have (or develop) better versions of Montgomery, Gillespie and others.I don't expect to get quite the quality of FTX ;) but would like something more than the default FSX.

Hey you San Diego simmers, what would you say is one of the more interesting airports in our area... one that has some character to it? Any small dirt strips or hidden little gems. Maybe out in the desert or in the mountains? Would like to explore what's in our own backyard. If you have a favorite you have always wanted modeled, what would it be? thx,Clutch
