I agree with the reviewers conclusion. There's just not enough features/details in this product for the asking price.Regards.Ernie.

According to the review, the developer is not too happy about the review......they shouldn't be surprised! Its junk products like this that give FS addons a bad name. We dont always expect PMDG type stuff but using ported models, no vc (2011?) and default gauges is not acceptable for the price charged.

A little insight into flightsoft and the dc-10 that model is in fact the freeware Dc-10 model from sga made many years ago by Erick cantu for fs2004/fs9. something happened that someone at the team in sga sold the rights to Ericks DC-10 model to flightsoft. Without him knowing at the time that was one big blow to him as you can imagine and now many years later we have lost a great model designer. anyways my info comes from many different forums I read by Erick cantu himself over the years, the errors are most likely what you would see if you download and ported the sga Dc-10 into fsx. since it is in fs9 made many years ago. I'm very happy Angelique did the review and I agree with 100% and I love her reviews.http://forums.jetphotos.net/showthread.php?t=20373Below is what Eric last wrote to the fs community.Dear people of the FS community:It is with very little regret and quite a bit of optimism that I am writing this to you, the public, without whom we would not have much anyone to really download our stuff! First of all, I want to extend my thanks to all of you. You've all been great. Most of you, anyway. You guys keep me motivated to do things right to some degree, you make the awards happen, you make download numbers grow from zilch to the tens of thousands. And I appreciate that. When I started out with FSDS1 in 2001 I never really imagined I'd be where I am today. As far as I was concerned I'd design a few planes here and there and make that 737-200 I wanted to fly in FS so badly. And that's sort of what happened. In late 2001 I was taken on by Matt Driscoll at the 737 Classic Experience Project to do detail work. That ended up falling through, and I took my FSDS source code with me and formed FFX with Adam Stanger, Hunter Cox, Tyler Johnson, and Sean Jamieson. FFX released an MD80 to not much fanfare and we quickly got back to the 737 focus. Within months GMax was the norm and we released our first trial at the program - a small family of LearJets. We were approached by SGA to collaborate on their MD80 project and ended up using their wings and our DC-9 nose, fuselage, tail, et c. It wasn't really noticed but the second version with Mike's help became a landmark release in 2002 for both groups and put us on the map, it was quickly followed in early 2003 by the DC-9-50.Progress on the 737 wasn't very rapid but was steady and the first 737, the -200, was released in early 2003. The -800 followed as did the -300, -400, and -500. These were to be FFX's last releases. The DC-10 was another collaboration with SGA and this was where a *slight* problem started. Flightsoft wanted a licensed version of the DC-10, and I was offline, having just moved. The decision was made to go ahead and I came home to find out that FFX had been dissolved and I was now going to be in the process of upgrading the DC-10, which I'd just bloody well finished, but hey, we were gonna get paid.To be quite honest I was in college with no time for FS work, but somehow between studying, doing homework, and trying to sleep, I did it, albeit at the last minute. We were to be paid before Christmas if all went well.It didn't. I got my first check about a month ago and the amount was nearly ludicrous considering what it had cost me in terms of time, school, and freeware work to make.Back in July, I'd started a DC-9-30 completely from scratch, and by August, a DC-9 family from -10 to -50 was done. This was later evolved and became the package we released some months ago.The A300 came about in February of 2003 as SGA's first release of the year. It was followed mid-year by the DC-10-40 and in November by the aforementioned DC-9 family. There's just one problem with all of this.Frit and I made the models, Frit and Mike did FDEs, Steve Daniel and the others painted. What did our other team members do? Some effects, minor modelling. Jon's sole model project, the B1900D was put aside recently. He cites a lack of time due to schoolwork.Excuse me? Does that sound familiar?Over the last year management has become more and more distant. The group was left in the hands of our PR guy. As much as I like Dan, he was brought on because he had access to B1900s. NOT because he could run a group and the group hasn't been run too well.Over that time some group members became sick of it. Some were actually fired because they hurt group image. And those are the two reasons anyone has left SGA outside of lack of time. Kiki gets an exception, for obvious reasons. The people I want most to work with are all GONE. The one forum in the FS community not run by uptight neo-conservatives with a moral and image agenda has become just another moderated forum. And that's the last straw. I admit to being an . I labelled myself one. I don't really care if this hurts group image. I don't WANT to look good! I don't WANT to be praised for being what I'm not! I'm a mediocre modeller who knew where and how hard to hit the community and at best I'm a jerk and a weirdo! Deal with it! I embrace it.I don't want to be part of a group that cares more about image than allowing people to enjoy themselves. When I get home from work, I want to come home to my hobby and have a little fun, and when you've been working your off all day for mediocre pay, you tend to wanna get a bit rowdy. And I did, and I wasn't the first! People love to cite me as the biggest example. No, I've got a name that makes me the most visible example. I'm not the cause and if people want to look at me as an influcence then they need better influences.THIS IS NOT MY JOB. I work at McDonalds. THIS IS MY HOBBY. I don't want to come home to the same juvenile - I deal with every day at work. Do any of you who are so easily offended honestly think this is all that bad? Have any of you ever been to the PPRuNe forums? Obviously not! The longer I'm stuck here the longer it feels less like a hobby and more like a full-time job. I have a full-time job.Moderation from unauthorized individuals has extended to my area, and Mike's as well. That's the last straw. And it's with that note that I announce my withdrawal from SGA, and to a degree the FS community on a semi-permanent basis. This is non-negotiable.I don't want to ask the group to give me things I don't deserve and as a non-group member I doubt I am eligible to keep my webspace nor email and I've transferred all files I want to keep. Please use my OSS email address when mailing me from now on (I can't send mail through the SGA server of late anyway, but I can receive, so if you send one, now you know where the reply will come from!).Expect to see me more in MSTS, and expect to see some FS releases, just not as many or as soon as many of you would have liked.I don't want too disappoint you, but most of you who know me well enough have your hands on some contraband new stuff anyway. I'm that kind of fellow.SGA retains all support 'priveledges' to anything released through us and they will be given source files for all CURRENT SGA releases. They may feel free to upgrade at will under the understanding that they WILL give proper credit where due and that I may refine and re-release as I like. The exception to this is the DC-10 ewhich is joint property of me and Mike who does not wish for SGA to retain DC-10 materials, and so they will not."

None of the mentioned positive point is important, and for the good reason there is any really interesting feature nor one singular content of an average quality in these Fly To.Just reading the products page on the publisher website is boring because you wonder until the last sentence, is this "aircraft" just the one thing they designed ? Ok, you have flight "adventures" which are just approaches, and hey, FS2000 era has gone a long time ago.The guy discovering their products for first time will be looking for any scenery or default airports upgrade, at least, and won't find anything of this.Flying To the SDK to learn what can be designed for FS to name it an add-on...

An excellent, detailed review of a shoddy product. One small point I'd like to add to it. The reviewer commented on the lack of functionality of the overhead panel, but she omitted to say that it looks nothing like either an MD-10 or a DC-10 overhead panel. The engine start panel is a joke. Engine 1 and 2 have the MSFS default OFF/GEN/START rotary knobs, while engine 3 has a pushbutton of some kind.Kevin
