FWIW:I have a Belair cockpit video cockpit video of 763 and 752 flights. I don't know if it was the 763 captain's personal choice or airline policy but for terrain awareness he referred to a map collection manual called 'The Pilot's Fee Flight Atlas' published by Absolutezero and out of print. It comes in a North America volume for the US, Canada, and Mexico, and a Europe, Sorth Africa, and Middle East volume.These are low resolution (one inch = 27.5 nm) mostly topographical maps with locations of major VORs, NDBs, waypoints (including some oceanic), and runway length classified airports with at least 700m runways that are ICAO registered. High spots are shown in feet or meters as appropriate to the region. Its intended audience is for any pilots that wish to 'get a feel' for what's beneath them and provide some terrain situational awareness possibly for use in very drastic navigational emergencies. Major highways are overlaid on the topography as well. It's for those flying in unfamiliar locations. For airline pilots laying over in major cities some street maps are included. For those of poor geographical knowledge (like me) it provided interesting terrain and aeronautical features. World political maps have overprinted index keys to the more detailed topo maps.These out of print guides also have appendices regarding weather symbols, weather anatomy, VOLMET broadcasting locations (not in FS) crosswind computation charts, etc., that are of general interest. Airways are not shown. It looks like the Europe volume has a new edition and the US volume is still available. Amazon only has these at rare book prices. This is a supply store for airline crews located in a secure area of KMSP. (I had mine sent UPS since the area was not accessible to me.)I can't find the date of the data but I assume it is very late 1980's or early 1990's. Jeppesen furnished the aeronautical data.I used them to find flights of interesting terrain and durations of up to four hours and then looking for the current airlines and flight schedules available for airports of interest.For the OP there are some applications that run in a separate window that are moving maps using Google Earth tht might be of interest.

Go into your PMDG models panel folders. First make a safe copy of panel.cfg. Then open it in notepad.See if window 8 is defined. The scroll down to the window sections and see if 8 is commented out with slashes. In mine this is the IRS (Inertial Reference System) but I don't know if that is a modification implemented by your panel preferences in the PMDG FS menu bar dropdown or a revision for all preferences.If that window 8 slot is used for inserting a default gps pop-up I don't know if that would cause problems with the PMDG panel configuration utility. The panels I use are the latest revision supplied with the 738 that updates the 737 (plus service packs).Be aware that using shift-number to bring up the regular PMDG panels and not the hot-keys or panel icons can cause freezing effects of the panel instrument read-outs.One of the designers here might comment.

Hello everyone.I have got it working. I changed my panel config (window 9 cause there was the irs for me placed) and now when i hit shift+9 i see the default fs gps pop up!!!!!! Hello everyone. THNX for al the answers.I hope that someone could make it possible in the future to make it possible to see a moving map. For myself i find it easier if there is a moving map so i can actually see where i am flying.Maybe another question/possibility.Is it possible to use the default gps from fs in the cockpit? I don't want it to work, but just show up so i can see the moving map. Like for example when i press shift+0 that the gps pops up?? i believe that shift+0 now doesnt have any assignments correct me if i'm wrong. Remy,Forget about the moving map. It reminds me of the terrible FSNAV-thing. It's a pretty bad way to learn flying because afterwards you have to learn to orientate "the real way".It only distracts you from what's important.Best Regards,Bert Van Bulck
