Gentlemen;I've searched the forums on anything "sound" related and have come up empty. While flying my sounds will change, sort of fades out most times, until I hit "Q" and "Q" again (toggles sound off/on). Sometimes when switching to outside view then back to VC the VC sound is different.... I've lived with this some time now. Any ideas?FSX Acc.

I believe I have a similar issue. Sometime when I switch views the sound changes.More specifically the engine sound attributed to in cockpit view will change to an external type sound when out of the aircraft but sometimes when reentering the plane the sounds don't switch and doesn't fit the environment being experienced.Thing is I just accepted it as an fsxism and never bothered to find out why this is happening.Tom

try this:

  1. Open Windows Control Panel
  2. Select "Sounds"
  3. Click on the "Communications" tab
  4. Make sure the "Do Nothing" option is selected.

This solved the problem for me. And I do believe it was here on AVSIM I found this solution.

Just a quick question, do you have a headset connected which is tagged as communication device in the control panel?I had a similar problem, and found that the sound would travel back and forth from speakers to headset when this was enabled and tagged as communication device, fixed it by disabling the headset.

Not under "Devices and Printers" No headset connected to computer at all. It's in "Control Panel/Sounds". It's not checked as active but is enabled under properties. I've just disabled it and will report back.

What sound package are you using? I have found that non-FSX native sound packages and some default sounds have issues in FSX. I have been searching for a solution for almost 2 years and have decided that using 3rd party FSX native sound packs is the only way to go. The TSS FSX native ones work well on my system.
