Why has the PMDG General Forum become a Forum about Hardware?

Featured Replies

I like the fact that theyy upgrade and all Applause.gifBut, It just pains me to know people have Computers 10x better than mine lol tongue.gifI love my computer, I know I over-clocked you I'm sorry for putting you through strain, thanks for letting me run FSX at epic Frame-rates :)

Well I know lately I have been putting a lot of Hardware forums on here for a couple of different reasons: (I have searched and researched on google)1. Getting a upgrade on my system and not knowing much about computers, putting forums up here have helped me alot.2. People here in this forum, espically ryan, know what they are talking about when it is related to FSX, even though I go and reseach it on google it is not the same as somebody "thinking" that it might work or you might get good framerates it is somebody who actually has the hardware and will tell you that, yes this hardware will work with FSX because I own it and use it3. There is a lot of confusing things to read online, I am not sure reeally who to believe, SO I come here where I have gotten help from someone like Ryan upgrading my system (not done, but getting there) who knows excatly what he is talking about in regards to FSX plus more.If I am spending hundreds or even a thousand or 2 dollars I want to make sure that I get all of the stuff that works with FSX, and not guess and check, thats why I come here. And the atmosphere here is so nice to, everyone is willing to help each other, and build apon what they dont know and what they learn.

I think a big part of it could be that the lastet chip (Sandybridge) was released just 3 months ago so now is the time to upgrade as that nwill be the best CPU on the market for the next 3 years...

The problem is,, people keep putting the same stuff!!No one wants to research anything, just get everything fed on a plate, i cannot stand it sometimes. A simple search into google and see the latest hardware etc will answer everything so much better!!
Even though this may be my first post, I have been a follower of this forum for sometime now and for the most part a lot of the comments are quite positive and constructive with people contributing their advice and idea's, but when i see comments like the above I am amazed at some peoples plain ignorance and stupidity! This forum is for everyone out there to to ask whatever question within reason they wish to and its not up to certain individuals to play wanna be moderators or forum police from the own keyboard! This just ruins it for everyone else's enjoyment whether they are a first time poster or a long time contributor to the forum. If you don't like what people post then I would seriously suggest you skip over the comments or don't post if you have nothing nice or constructive to say!Keep up the great work PMDG and I always look forward to reading the positive posts here and looking forward to more of your great products soon :( Josh Taylor
