Should work since it's the same as transferring data from one HD to another and then renaming the drive.Best regards,Jim

That is what I did, and it works..

Short answer... a yes from me too... with maybe a problem here or there.I copied my FSX install from a 4 Drive Raid0 array (WD160s) to a HD, swapped in 4 Intel X-25V SSDs for the WD160s, rebuilt the Raid0 array (the HD was defragged with O&O) then copied FSX back to the new SSD array. Like you said, I kept the same Drive Letter for the array.I had a couple "weird" things happen... I think I had to reinstall my PMDG-747 and one of my FlyTampa sceneries... but I can't really say the transfer was at fault for that.Other than that, worked fine for me. Just make sure you use the same path names. If you originally installed in (for example)…E:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator Xthen make sure you use that same path on the new SSD

I'm gonna quasi-piggy-back on this one.I'm thinking about an SSD myself here in the near future (a whole new build actually).Obviously FSX can eat a lot of storage space on install, particularly if loaded up with FS Genesis mesh and add-on glory. Is there an optimum way to organize a from-scratch FSX install with its subsequent add-ons? I ask only because I'll have my SSD as my primary drive but a platter drive as my D. Wasn't sure if it was practical/easy/helpful to split the storage load between the two.
