KSEA 34L GLIDE SLOPE

Featured Replies

Hi. I just finnished an unsuccesful flight (overshot the rwy) to KSEA. I was vectored to 34L and not being that experienced yet, i realized too late that the vasi lights were showing all four white and that the localizer glide slope i was tracking was incorrect. The result was touch down at least 1 third of the way down a not too long rwy. and i just couldn't make it to a stop at the end. I was flying a PMDG 747-400 by the way. I have just recently installed ORBX FTX PNW. but i havent read of any affects on KSEA. Anybody had similar experience or knowledge of this?

This is the situation where you perform a go-around, rather than landing..Good practice!

Nope - SEA is my Maddog's home base for years, especially so, since PNW was released, and she'll stop at the first turnoff if I use max autobrake. Are you using autobrake, or just manually braking?

Autobrakes 3 but the 747 is a big bird and i should have gone around as stated. So you live and learn. However i still have the problem of the incorrect glide slope. Just tried again but asked for and got 34R and everything went perfectly so maybe i need an updated AFCAD?

You can download Airport Design Editor 9 from here. Open the airport and change whatever you want. It will recompile it. Note - it uses components from the FSX SDK - which you will find on your FSX disks. If you have SP1, SP2 or Acceleration installed - it will want the appropriate SDK version.Get it hereGreat learning experience! :(

Have you patched your ORBX PNW to the latest version? I seem to recall a problem with the glideslopes in the original version, but it's long since been repaired. If you haven't patched lately, you might want to do that. If you have, I don't know what the problem was.
