[Newegg] Seasonic X650 PSU - $109 (ridiculous!)

Recommended Posts

This is such a good deal I just had to post it - no rebate required, either! This is an excellent PSU for you guys still planning your Sandy Bridge builds. 650W should be plenty of power for an i5-2500k and any single GPU. Personally, I wouldn't run multiple GPUs on 650W, though.Seasonic X650 Gold - 650W PSU - $109

That's a very well-built efficient PSU at a good price but the wattage is a little low for my comfort. You can get a Corsair TX 950 for only $10 more after MIR. Granted, the savings on the Seasonic PSU are instant whereas you have to wait for those of the Corsair unit, but the final prices are very close. Personally, I'd take the extra headroom provided by the additional wattage over the power saving and modularity but that's just my preference.

I got the Seasonic 750w with my new SB system... it was 30 bucks off the normal price so $160. I wanted the 850 instead but it was $200. I'm not worried, in fact I wouldn't mind running two GTX570's in sli with a seasonic 750... i think theres at least 60A on the 12v rail. Wattage doesn't matter as much these days, people need solid amperage on the 12v rail or rails. Granted, a 350w psu won't cut it anymore lol.

HelloBut the OCZ is actually made by FSP unfortunately not anywhere near the quality of Seasonic.Seasonic are probably the Rolls Royce of the PSU world.
