Interesting...Same with my i5 2500K, impossible to reach 5.0 or even 4.8, so I stay @ 4.6 and max. Volt 1.35.I guess the early buyers just got lucky, Spiritflyer, FunknNasty etc. - they are @ 5.0 and 5.2, weird...Hypnotized.gif
:Shame On You: I can do 5.4 """"easily""". Hell, I haven't been denied any overclock, but I'm not going to push it past 5.4 with the cooler I have. Besides, I think I've maxed out my 560ti with FSX anyway.I can say """easily""" because, according to an expert, if your overclock quest ain't going easy then you've probably gone too far and should settle for fine tunning what works.#####Note: The 560ti is a fine card that gives me eveything I need. It just doesn't scale past 5.0GHz. Yes, I'd buy it again.

Uhm, how did you manage to burn a graphic card? Too high temps? I can't%2
Furthermore: OCing GPU for FSX is pure nonsense. Heavy AA/AF, heavy weather, at a big airport, frames stock 30, frames OC to 940/2240, NO CHANGE at all. All tested on the fly.
Well but my grafic card is some how outdated so I though it would help a bit when using this new AA.

Best regards, Steffen

Try 4xSGSS Transparency antialiasing, or 16x AA and let me know if GPU OC helps or not hehe. It's not going to completely overcome the GPU bottleneck but it definitely helps Getting a 580 and running IQ you could run in a 200€ card in FSX that is so CPU bound is sort of pointless IMO

Well, I guess it was a bad version, because I only clocked it a bit using the Asus SmartDoctor, which is a totally useless tool IMO!Maybe the memory got too much, temps were OK @ max. 54 C

You talking about me? I am quite happy with that setting I mentioned before... I used 8xS before and everything looked jagged. Now is smooth. What is 4xSGSS?!?And 16x AA? You mean 16xS?

OK... cuz burning a 250€ chip is QUITE different than burning 450€ GPU.

Yeah, talking about you ^_^ If you're happy with it, then so be it, but my good old GTX460 could do 4v12 no prob, if you know what I mean.4xSGSS = 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling Transparency Antialiasing. Kills AG shimmer almost completely and also helps in the VC of planes like the MD11Sorry, yes I meant 16xS AA (4xMS)

I'm very picky about my FSX performance. I want 30 MINIMUM and wished for 40fps. And that is sitting in the VC of any commercial airliner like LDS767, PMDG747, MD11 at a terminal 5 at UK2000 Heathrow with scenery on high and with a look towards the center of the airport. Also external. That all with Dense AG, high LOD and highres clouds.Previously, didn't get it. I was stuck at about 20fps if I cranked such high settings. Now, 35-40 (40-locked).

Word Not Allowed wrote:"OK... cuz burning a 250€ chip is QUITE different than burning 450€ GPU."That GTX 460 is only about 160 of the vastly overrated EU currency!I´m located in Bangkok, Thailand, paid 6700 THB.BTW: Genuine, not a copy!Big%20Grin.gif

LOL, OK.I was also talking about mine ^_^

Word Not Allowed. Can I please ask you to try this and let me know what you think? GPU overclock will probably help. I get pretty solid 22-25FPS in bad whether and looks great to me. Your 580 if overclocked should be able to keep it pretty close to 30FPS:Don't be fooled by 8xS AA, it's actually better than 8xSQ since it's a 4xMultisampling mode, and TAA Sparse Grid takes care of SuperSamplingImportant: AF to app controlled:2pz0847.png

OK! biggrin.gif

Dazz,Your mode:33 vs 36 stock vs OC"Old" mode:35 vs 37 stock vs OCBUT:Your mode is graphically WAY better. I just observed on one aircraft in one situation, but that converted me.I could almost fall in love with this graphical beauty:Thank you.

Yeah, I would for to the 580 withgout any thought but I´m actually saving for my SB update, so there´s no money left. But if I have the money after this upgrade, I´ll go for it.

fair enough, and does it look any better to you? IMHO 4xSGSS ###### slaps 4v12 all the way. what A/C are you testing? PMDG744 maybe?EDIT:

There we go  now your 580 serves it's purpose, not only a line in your sig hehe
