Not sure I'd put 1.49V and long processor life in the same sentence LOL even under water
If it holds 2 years, good life of 5Ghz performance...

You guys have definately created a bit of interest with this "offset" mode. I fly about 5-6 times a week (but haven't really since building this system...too busy playing), so the rest of the time my system is only for internet and basic things. After doing a very quick change of settings in bios to try the offset (thanks Tor) I now have 4.8 set with 0.60 offset, and after a short(5 passes) IBT test to the highest I could, vcore went up to 1.38-1.40 and temps were under 70. At iddle,1.6, vcore was 1.048...with iddle temps of about 26-27(max). Of course it's only april, and warmwer months are ahead (although here on the Atlantic coast it's never super warm, which is fine by me).If this fails in prime, should I up the offset voltage? I have to admit I have no clue how it works, I need more reading on the topic. As everyone else, I'm trying to get the fastest OC with the lowest vcore and temps. I would really like to keep this setup "intact" for at least 2 years (or the wife is not going to be very happy...) so I can enjoy FSX (and perhaps Flight) at the max for a long time.Anyway, I'm off to FSX with those settings to see what happens. Thanks Word Not Allowed for keeping this thread alive.

Those are good results, temps-wise and voltage-wise.If it fails in Prime and/or IntelBurnTest (which some highly recommend, since it bases its test on another algorythms and also tests more RAM tham Prime), then you should up the Offset yes. I usually go in 0.01 steps, and if it holds, go down half.Offset is pretty simple, as I understand it: the system drops the voltage by an offset when at idle.My only problem is I didn't figure out how to make it drop more than 0.23 what is now set, how do I make it drop to 1.05 or something, with 0.6 offset. If I set 0.6, it's gonna skyrocket to 1.9V for the CPU, that is not a good thing LOL.gif

Ehmmm.... Careful with them volts guys! Please be aware of this:CPU Offset: + 0.060Not 0.60!!If needed, add some more Turbo Volt - start with 0.012

I had to go recheck in the Bios to be sure of what I put for offset...Indeed I put 0.060...not 0.60...I guess it's a pretty big difference typo..Thanks for noticing

Well, with these setings I got a BSOD with 0124 error while approaching KFLL. Upped the offset voltage, but now the multi won't go back down to 16 while not at load...I'm puzzled. Will put everything back to stock and try again....Frustrating work for sure.

G.Skill - no go. Same thing. Memtest freeze.

Pritty bad. Will you ever get a stable and working system?I hope I won´t get such problems cause I can read the readme´s and do as told but as far as there is any problem, I´m out.Maybe you have to get away from Asus and get it from another brand.

Best regards, Steffen

I'm very much thinking Gigabyte UD4. Already asked in the shop, but I don't want to go with the exchange any more before testing it THERE.Crazy thing though is that all my Windows test apps, now there is Linx here too, are all stable. Prime95, IntelBurnTest, OCCT and Linx...
