March 31, 201115 yr Has anyone downloaded this free plane? I have gone through the process up to actually d/l ing but there it stops and I can't go any further. I never have heard of commercial level simulations and wonder if it is legitimate. Anybody know anything about this?Don
April 2, 201115 yr I downloaded and installed it O.K. but unfortunately its very "old hat", the realism is not very good, the panel reminds me of the days of Flight Unlimited 1. In saying this, it is probably good and easy for someone starting simming, and kind enough for the company to offer it for free instead of just ditching it.

The sound is also incorrect in that it has been aliased to the default Cessna 172, which is not even close to reality as the PA-28R had a more powerful Lycoming engine with a constant speed prop, so if an alias was to be used for the sound then something like the default Cessna 182 might have been more appropriate.Still it is very good of CLS to offer it as freeware and they have to be congratulated for that (as well as continuing to produce other quality products for FS9).Bill
April 2, 201115 yr Shes a decent plane for freeware, just a drag that you have to register, get a confirmation email, then confirm, download, receive the key and then install. Not too bad though for a single prop plane once freeware...glad I never buy stuff anyways and just wait for the freeware goodies to continue to come my way
April 2, 201115 yr I downloaded earlier this week, took a couple of tries to get file to download. I agree with others that visual quality is not too good. Couldn't get it to handle well either. Oh well, now we know why its free . . . .
April 4, 201115 yr Author Okay thanks to everyone for their input I d/l'd it a couple days ago and I like it (except for the sound). I changed the sound and put in mooney sound. I know that is not correct sound for this plane but I like it so much more than the cessna sound (which is right for cessna) If I could find the correct sound I would use it (or at least try it)Don
April 4, 201115 yr I put in the Lycoming engine sound from a Navajo. Might be a little much, but it has a really nice sound.
