PSS new Patches what gives...

"I think you live in a little bit of a fantasy wolrd, withregards to this".No mate, you've got me wrong, I agree with what you are saying, I am just trying to see things from the other side of the fence, and maybe giving a different view on things. To be honest I would not mind paying for a "working" patch for the Dash 8, in 2002 it was my most flown plane. But whinging and moaning about it is not going to help, if people have a problem with the way PSS do business then the answer is simple DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS.But in doing all this moaning I fear that PSS may drop these patches all together, I mean are they going to lose any more face?.I would like to have been able to start a poll on this forum (can't figure out how to start on though :)), to see how many people expect their products to be upgraded to the newer sim.I think we are going to see a swing in freeware vs payware, freeware has really been gaining ground on the payware lately, and these guys manage to program relitivly bug-free add-ons, with all the bells and whistles for free, so how come the some of the guys who get paid can't?.Heres hoping this all gets sorted in a decent manner.Dan.

We have a fair amount of money sitting on our Hard Disks, invested in PSS products and its not working at all. The A330/A340 is still not right, and the announced patched products, dont work to. No communication, so what now? IF PSS drop the patches, they they will drop many customers as well. They are losing face becuase of their attitudie, not because of the bugs. If they simply made a statement and acknowledged the problem and said what they were going to do about it, the moaning would by and large stop, but they dont do they? So what else can they expect.I really hope PSS dont think that by changing their ways, they are losing to the power of the customer, becuase Like that we all lose. We are an impatient bunch, but they are not going about things the right way, and to be honest where and if they drop out someone else will move in. Id hate to lose PSS, but I wont put up with this. Yep, PSS the floor is yours, lets hear what you've got to sayDan

Actually, Dan, I WAS promised compatibility before I purchased. Not to come down hard on you, but, as I've said before, the "they didn't have to patch it" argument is BS. Without that promise, I can assure you I and many others would not have bought the products when we did, so close to the release of FS9. And the fact is, PSS made the promise, period. Not only that, but if done properly, PSS and any developer updating their product can ensure sales to new customers for the next two years. If updating is such a problem, then maybe these promises need to not be made. After sleeping on it, I'm personally even more upset with the situation then I was yesterday. This type of quality standard has unfortunately seemed to become the rule and no longer the exception. Let's rush the products out, we'll deal with all the issues once we have the customer's money. I'm ticked at PSS on a few different levels, but ya know what, they're not the only one's pulling this crap. I think it best to cut this post short before I say anything I might regret later. I'm SICK of being taken advantage of, wasting my money, wasting my time, and most of all allowing situations like this to frustrate me to the point of not even wanting to use the sim at all. :-8

Hi,Interesting, you were promised that they would work in 2004?, well thats a whole different kettle of fish.I certainly hope that they will get sorted out soon.BTW don't get to frustrated by all this, there are a lot worse things that can happen in life ;).AS I said before, I doubt I will purchase anything else from PSS, I think that alot of Payware companies could learn a lesson from RealAir Simulations.Dan.

"I think that alot of Payware companies could learn a lesson from RealAir Simulations."You can say that again.Yes I realize there are more important things in life, just what those things are escape me at the moment but I'm sure there must be something.:-lol I'm just tired of this type of attitude, as if we owe PSS our patience and unconditional support....that we should be glad they are "trying".....:-violin Ah well, ya live ya learn. It's too bad, this market is such a small one, you'd think these guys would get their act together. Anyone want to buy some broken kitchen appliances I have in my basement ? I'm only asking original purchase price, sound good ?How bout this, take your wallet out of your pocket, set it on the ground and light it on fire, eh ? I don't think I should come to AVSIM before my coffee ever again :-lol

I Agree with all of you. PSS isn't any more what it used to be.Now they are slow, unefficent, and that 330 / 340 SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSStuuuters in panel view. (Runway)(P4 3.0 GHZ 2 gb DDr 3200 RAM GF 5900 ultra)And yes! PMDG, Dash 8, etc etc... don't and I say DON'T! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSStuuuter in panel view. But .... about that mouse flickering issue and the A 320. Did you disable the mouse pointer shadows and chosen "2d" mouse pointers in the mouse properties (Windows)?AC5

Guys I need to say this so here goes1- We only said we would make the Dash8, A320 series and Vulcan FS2004 compatible. We never agreed to do any upgrades. This is absurd you purchase and aircraft for Fs2002 and the expectit to be a FS2004 model. Doesn't make sense to me but that is the logic you have expressed.2- IF you have a problem after the patch then post it to the PSS forum not here. We are aware of of all the comments and we are looking to see why they are happeneing. They did not occur when we tested the patches and we are not sure why they are happening now.3- I have all of the aircraft patched and on my system with none of the problems you are describing. So go post in the PSS forum or write me at support and we will do our best to get you up and flying.Robert KirklandPSS [email protected]http://www.avsim.com/pss/phoenix.jpg

No Robert, I will NOT go to the PSS forum, and keep this quiet and moderated for you. Absolutely not. You promised FS9 compatibility, not FS9 "it'll show up but not work right". You made that promise, no one made you. If you couldn't keep the promise, it's your own damn fault. If you want to play semantics, if that's the way this will be handled, I think you are helping us all make our future buying decisions, no ? Name me one product you have that works in FS9 without issues.I notice you say nothing of the A330/340....what, run out of excuses ?I've played ball with patches and bugfixes, never getting upset, as long as I felt an honest effort was being made to get it right. You have NOT made that effort with this patch. Know what else ? To say that you weren't aware of these issues is ridiculous, and means one of two things, you didn't beta these patches AT ALL, or you aren't being honest. Either way, I've had it, and can say with all certainty that I will not purchase from you again.
