Like he said.Rich.

It didn't seem to overwrite my FSUIPC. I've still got 3.125 installed.

After trying the patch, and having it fail like it seems everyone else, what do they mean by the instrutions posted?>The patches are for the download versions onlyOK fair enough, easily understood>1- The patches will install for all aircraft in FS2004Whats that mean??>2- If you do not have them installed in FS9 no patchAnd whats that mean??So am I to understand to put it in simple terms, install everything to FS9 and run the patch from there if you don't have 2002 installed?Cause it seems to have done nothing for me...ChrisNo point posting to the PSS forum cause its 5AM in England...

Ok.I installed the patch for the A319/320/321 set, But when I try to fly it in the 2d cockpit, the control movements of my joystick are delayed or do not respond at all. But if I try it in spot or 3d cockpit mode, it works fine. What is up with all this ?

I was getting excited about these patches when I read the first post announcing the fact that the patches were out, but now I am going to hold off installing until these problems get resolved. I have been in FS2k4 and haven't flown my A320 or my Dash8 because of lack of compatability. I guess it still continues.I am keeping faith in PSS to honor the $40 I spent on both of these aircraft FS2k4 compatable, but I admit my faith is dwindling.

Chris, Agree, PSS really made a mess of it with this latest round of patches. I was able to get them done after fumbling with the whole thing for a couple of hours...time that would have been much better spent had they used the 5 mos or so they have had to work on the patch working on some documentation for them. What I had to do, since I have FS2002 and FS2004 and want to hold on to them both, was to go to their website and download a file called "Set 2002", that is a bit confusing because as soon as you download it it looks for FS2000.exe. This file is in your FS9 folder and you have to open it and then update the registry so that it reflects FS9 in both blocks on the tab. Then, when you re-install the original AbPro and Dash8 base and livery packs using the original FS2002 install.exe, it will point to FS9. After this, you run today's patch and it will patch all of the Airbus and the Dash 8. I haven't flown them all, but I can attest that the A340 still launches like an F-16 at MTOW so I suspect they didn't do much with the flight dynamics. Another unpleasant surprise is that this little routine also replaces your current version of FSUIPC with a much earlier version. I had to re-install that, but fortunately my fsuipic.ini retains my registration information. PSS star is surely not shining as bright!regards,

Look at the modified date/time stamp on your cfg/air files (just put your cursor over the file if using XP) and you will see that (at least for me) none of the 330/340 files were updated at all...nada one. > Another unpleasant surprise is that this little routine also>replaces your current version of FSUIPC with a much earlier>version. The beginning of the end! I think we can chalk this up too the all mighty dollar, in the beginning it was okay to release the A330 with more bugs than you can shake a stick at then turn around and make everyone wait for a patch that was supposed to fix it. Frankly, the patches for the A320 and the Dash 8 should have been released first and then made sure that the A330/340 packages were up too the standards that the original A320 PRO series was for FS2002.I tend too agree that developers are getting into this mode that their stuff doesn't smell. I was recently banned from a company out of Australia because I simply asked too many questions and the website owner felt I was being abusive, I only felt like I wanted my 26 bucks worth, and I wanted frame rates better than 7-8 in FS2004 when everything else was running at 25 FPS. My money was refunded and I had no idea that this had happened until it came time too re- install their product, as I had to download it again I found out that I had been black listed. I found the person that I dealt with almost childish, it was almost a dont pick on us attitude because were too sensitive and we don't like negative input on our products and we are perfect.I have always liked PSS and loved their products, but I think this is the sign of the times. Quality is giving way too quantity, and the customer is never right.Oh yeah, the Dash 8.. Tourque Gauges, does anyone know how too make them work?

I cant beleive they have not made a single comment about their patches. What the hell are they playing at.Their attituide towards us (their loyal Customers) is so wrong. Are we seeing the makings of another ARIANE here? I demand, and I think we all should demand an answer from them, this is outrageous. And if they carry on like this, I hope they simpley wittle out of business and let the big boys like PMDG take care of Business.one word sums them up for me PatheticJason

Can I just play devils advocate here, and probably get flamed to hell in the process ;).I am as annoyed as the next person about this, BUT, when we all brought the A320,Dash8 and 777/747, we were never promised that they would work in FS2004, were we.The A330/A340 is a different story, that was designed to work in 2004 from the off, so yes it should work, but as far as I can see having the A320 and Dash8 in 2004 is a bonus, they are under no obligation to make it work in 2004 because it was not sold to do that. It's all about public relations, but I wonder if PSS are starting to wonder if they would have got less flak if they had not bothered to patch them at all.Well, I am waiting patiently for my Dash 8's torque gauges to workflame away boys ;).Dan.

Also since FS2002 and FS2004 are quite the same, there should not be much work involved. Juding by the way PSS act they would not of updated it if involved a lot of work, but they have just slipeed into a downhill spiral. How caome every other developer:PMDGReady For PushbackLagoRealAirSimwingsEaglesoftSSWReality-XPDo I need to continue, updated all their products without moaning and did it almost first time?Im sick to death with hearing we/they dont have to update for FS2004, My answer is simple, Fine and then lets see how many products you sell in the future. Less we foget not only have most devs updated for free, but they went beyond that and added new stuff 2.Here is testemant to what Im saying:I got the email form real air about the SF260, so pleased was I that not only did Rob Young and the wonderfull team updated the FDE, which I think Is fair as an Free update, and why not? But he went beyond that, they made the VC work, added a new livery, So you know what??? I bought their new bird.So please knock this we/they dont have to update for FS2004 on the head. as it dosent do anyone any good.PSS have gone to the dogs, and for a developer of such high esteem, it make me think?Jason

"..... we were never promised that they would work in FS2004, were we"I think you have a very valid point here. But the moment PSS even suggest in their marketing that these products are suitable for FS2004, then the community should stand up against this and at least protect the less aware consumer. It works both ways. Patch it to FS2004 standards and onsell to new customers accordingly. Leave the patches at their current (poor) standard and sell the products as "not fully compatible to FS2004 standards". There has to be a degree of fairness for the consumer.ANZ121

I am for one am very glad that Realair have done what they did, and because of the way they conduct their business, and the way Rob and the team conduct themselves, I brought the Decathalon, and will probably buy whatever they turn out next. Will I buy another PSS product again?, hmmm I doubt it, for various reasons. But it does not alter the fact that they never promised FS2004 combatibilty for any of their FS2000/FS2002 products. We automatically EXPECT that devlopers to upgrade their products for whatever new sim MS bring out, why?.Why should realair put a 1000 hours into an upgrade for free?.Would you?Dan.

If Real Air Charged for the update, or simply did not bother, the SF.260 would lose ground. If they Charged not many people would buy it, as most were very happy with how it preformed in FS2004 anyway. Not updating it would kill a legend. Its a fine line, For example DF said no to the 737, thats fine we are talking A massive amout of work. PSS never add anything new, do you think they would spend 1000's of hours updating for free? Also we were promised, from the second they said what would and what wasnt going to be updated. IF every dev, refused to update for new sims, trust me nobody would buy anything, and what if they release it 2 months befroe the new sim is due out, like many did. Do you seriously expect people to be ok, when the dev says, oh we are not updating this to the new sim.I think you live in a little bit of a fantasy wolrd, with regards to this. Fine people like Rob go the extra mile, and yes its very kind and nice, but they do it becuase they respect customers, and they also get better sales from treating customers fairly. How long they spend is no the point, its the end result and the product. PSS do put out good products, but since the A330/A340 has been disasterous, we can now see that relying on your quality products is not enough, as their total lack of customer respect shines through more than anything. IF this was involving Guys like Rob, the atomsphere would be very differnt, and to be frank, he would at least communicate and show respect, and I guess it would be sorted within the day. Also Has nobody ever questioned why PSS said, They could not update the A320/Dash/Vulcan for FS2004 untill MS released the SDK, Yet they managed to put out a whole new product for FS2004?Is it our thirst for the latest products, making developers cut corners to please us? or is it just a simple case of bad organisation, and a dose of "Make money hand over fist"Jason
