November 24, 200322 yr I've been playing a little more with the water effects and I'm quite fond of the results. Tell me what you think!-Daniel
November 24, 200322 yr You make the comparison difficult by showing some night and some day pictures, moreover the daytime pic seems to have been made form higher altitude. I can't tell ...Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
November 24, 200322 yr Well you aren't supposed to compare the shots, they all use the same wave pattern. I just wanted to show the dawn/day/dusk textures.-Daniel
November 24, 200322 yr >Well you aren't supposed to compare the shots, they all use>the same wave pattern. I just wanted to show the dawn/day/dusk>textures.>Oh, ok. Sorry for confusion. What can I say - they are excellent ! The best I have seen to date.Michael J. Michael J.
November 25, 200322 yr I think your water does look good, I think. I'm originally from the Chesapeake Area, I'm use to ocean water being green though.
November 25, 200322 yr >I think your water does look good, I think. I'm originally>from the Chesapeake Area, I'm use to ocean water being green>though.I think Daniel's package does not control water color, just the texture and reflections. I would recommend OceanFx for the overall best water color (but still from ideal of course).Michael J. Michael J.
November 25, 200322 yr Well I wouldn't know how to reduce the cycling, but I feel it's less noticable with these textures. I'll need to tweek them sime more though. Not sure when I'm gonna release these.I tried to put more green into the water before but it didn't look any good. I'm using some kind of ocean texture package right now, I don't remember the name, but I think I'll go back to OceanFX too.-Daniel
November 25, 200322 yr but I think I'll go back>to OceanFX too. Can't find this file -- any links please? Thanks Barry

November 28, 200322 yr OK here's another shot, I added some turquoise to it. What do you think? I don't live anywere near an ocean, and it's hard for me to judge only from my memory. I guess a deep green would be correct, but it's very hard to achieve that (I'd have to edit the underlying water textures too).I'm still in awe of one shot using Bill Lyons first release and a high-res bump map ... but I can't get anywhere near that without creating undesirable side effects.-Daniel
