April 7, 201115 yr Hello Everyone,So I have ordered this RIG for my FSX Setup..I want to know from experts and helpful people that will this able to run my FSX smoothly (With addons , scenery, Ai Traffic)? Intel Core i7 2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz will over clock to 4.0 + Ghz Asus P8H67 M LX Gskill Ripjaws 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz 4GB X 2 MSI N560GTX-TI Twin Frozer II/OC Cooler Master CM 690 II Thanks in Advance !
April 7, 201115 yr Seems pretty good other than the motherboard. You won't be able to overclock with that and its a micro board. It might be tough fitting a full size gpu on it. You have an H67 board so you will not be able to overclock. Well you can but you probably wont pass 4ghz with it
April 7, 201115 yr H67 can't overclock at allWell, it sorta can but no where near what an p67 can. (Overclocking the bus speed (which is not recommended)By the way, you should return your motherboard and get a P67 board. Also don't get micro. I have the Asus P8P67 Pro and it works great! Also, getting a 2600K with a H67 is kind of a waste as the "K" stands for unlocked but with the H67 board you are just locking up chip. If you can't afford a P67 then trade in the 2600K for a 2500

Some cases won't fit ATX boards

Except I read the bus clock can be overclocked but not much at all (105 I think is the max) And I agree, he should get the 2500 and not the K version (Mistake on my part)Also his case is a mid tower so getting a m-atx to me is a waste in my opinion. Trying to fit a decent cooler and GPU on that is going to be tough.
April 7, 201115 yr LOL I missed that, my bad. I have that case :biggrin:So get a 2500K, and put what you save towards a good P67 ATX board as Taylor suggestedAnd there will still be some money left for a CM Hyper 212 and even some faster 1600 CL7 RAM ... overclock the 2500K and enjoy FSX at it's best
April 7, 201115 yr Author Thanks a lot Dazz & thefsxflyer but 2500K is out of stock in India don't know for what reason I have asked the sellers but no one has it atm .
April 7, 201115 yr Well you should at least get a good P67 motherboard if you are going to get the 2600K Basically buying the "K" version with a an H67 board is wasting money. You will be spending extra money for a feature that you can't even use. Your system other than the motherboard is pretty slick. By the way, if you can't find the 2500K and want to get a P67 but can't afford it, you could probably get away with a lower end GPU *IF* you only play FSX.Also, I am not trying to be a jerk or anything. I am just trying to "optimize" your money. Bang for you buck
April 7, 201115 yr What are the timings on your ram? Would recommend 1600 mhz and CL no higher than 7.Bjorn "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
April 8, 201115 yr Author Ok people.. So I have changed my motherboard to this one this is the max i could do under my budgetGigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2HIs it fine ?Thanks for your precious advice!
April 8, 201115 yr Ok people.. So I have changed my motherboard to this one this is the max i could do under my budgetGigabyte GA-H67MA-UD2HIs it fine ?Thanks for your precious advice! You want a P67, not an H67. Hence GA-H67MA-UD2HAlso, the Micro ATXs aren't that bad at overclocking. It's a viable option but will look strange in that ATX case. Like everyone has said, just make sure it's a P67 if you want to do any overclocking. Apparently these CPUs do not take well to FSB overclocking at all. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
