April 9, 201115 yr I believe the SEA approaches changed when they added the 3rd runway, are you using the latest charts to view the info, and the latest afcad file?
April 9, 201115 yr Are you allowing the A/P to fly the ILS, Bob, or are you manually following the localizer? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
April 9, 201115 yr Author Hey Paul,Pure AP - No manual. This is a stock install patched to sp2 clean formatted install. I even removed all files outside of the FSX main directory just in case there was something weird going on. The only added software is UTX and GEX. I have been really busy but I am going to try again tonight and see what is happening. Bob Are you allowing the A/P to fly the ILS, Bob, or are you manually following the localizer? April 10, 201115 yr So - flying a fully manual visual approach, lined up on the runway; at about 1000 feet - set your fsx speed to 1/4 ('R' and '-' so you have time to really evaluate what's going on) - then note where the loc. bar is indicating at 7, 6 and 500 feet - how it compares to your position with respect to the runway. Continue in slo-mo down to 400 - 300 feet where you would normally take over from the A/P - noting it's movement all the way. At around 200 - 100 or so it should be pulling/indicating it wants you to go left or right - off the runway. Let us know what happens at each stage. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
April 10, 201115 yr Hi,I don't use the AP very much but was working with an ILS approach at KSEA and it is way off. I have installed, UTX , and this was the only addon I thought might have an effect on this but not sure.I really have no other addons that aside from GEX that might have something to do with the runways lat/long position. Any Ideas? RegardsBobI had a few minutes so I just flew the 16L ILS approach with the default FSX 172SP. I only used the AP and it tracked both the LOC and GS almost perfectly, I touched down just a foot of two from the centerline. Maybe there is a problem with whatever plane you were losing. Hope this helps ya. Jay
April 10, 201115 yr Author Well go figure. I did a test in the same planes and it worked like a charm. I approached 30deg at the outer marker and she locked in like a heat sinking missle. I have absolutely no clue. I do appreciate all that chimed in on this, so thank you. Maybe it was a sun flare?RegardsBob Officially retired
April 10, 201115 yr Well it is Seattle after all, maybe some stoned tree hugger was wrapped around LOC antenna by mistake and his solar powered watch interfered with the signal. :( Glad ya got it working. Jay

April 10, 201115 yr Author Geez,, I am so suprised someone hasnt suggested that earlier than now.Well, I can assure you I do not drink and fly. I have handed the controls to Michelle before though. What a babe.Bob Strange name for a rye and ginger, Bob!Glad you're happy!I for got to share with what I have done besides drink and fly and you don't have to be retired to enjoy this one.......Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day, my wife and I went into town and visited a shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him an “---hole” . He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires. So Bev called him a “s--t head”. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age. Gotta have funStrange name for a rye and ginger, Bob!Glad you're happy! Officially retired
