You did put FSX on a different drive, right? Or - at least, not under C:\Program Files?

Yes I followed nicks guide. turned off uac right after install, installed fsx to c:\games\fsx and first made sure full rights to add users on those foldersran all setup as administratorI think it's something to do with my graphics card. I just downloaded the latest nvidia beta driver, and changed my frame limiter to unlimited from 30. Heres hoping. It's actually d3d.dll not d3d9 but so aggravating.

If you are overclocking the GPU, I suggest undoing it. My GTX 580 seems to prefer no overclock and it certainly makes FSX more stable.

Latest bios but stock settings, nothing overclocked right now.

That's not going to cause a renderer crash...

So far so good, seems to want to run unlimited frames. Otherwise it crashes with that d3d.dll error.

Have you run the DirectX update since the OS was installed? There have been a good number of updates to DX9 since W7 RTM was released...recommend you go to support.microsoft.com, go to the downloads section, and download/run the DirectX updater. If you can't find it, I have a link to it in item #1 of the FAQs on the TinMouse forum here on AVSIM.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
