April 15, 201115 yr Hey guys!I´m building a new PC with all new technology, Core i7 2600K, etc, etc, and from my research the Nvidia GTX570 delivers tremendous performance, 20% slower than 150 dollars more expensive GTX580. It´s pretty clear to me that the 570 is the winner here, but I wanted to know your opinion. Do you think it´s worth such a large amount of money for the GTX580? I also have a question about memorys, I know this isn´t the right topic, but I don´t want to create a whole bunch of them. Is it worth having 8GB DDR3, vs 4GB?Thanks guys! Alexis Mefano
April 15, 201115 yr Author No way, I play all kinds of games, why? Do you think the GTX580 can make a difference there? I know there are games like Metro 2033 that not even a GX580 can handle with full graphics, but that´s not what I´m looking for, maybe when I get a FULL HD LCD monitor I might think about the GTX580 Alexis Mefano
April 20, 201115 yr I play Metro 2033 with my GTX 570 and get great performance. My resolution is 1920x1200 so I'm definitely putting the card to work. I can max every game right now. To me the 570 is just fine. Christopher Edwards
April 21, 201115 yr Unless you are going for super-hi resolutions in the vicinity of 2500xwhatever you don't need a 580. Get the 570, and if you get a non-reference one with better cooling you'll overclock it and get 580 performance if you think you need this much.
April 22, 201115 yr or go for an EOL GTX480 instead :)I went from a GTX570 OC to a GTX480 OC - and the 480 is noticeably smoother with lots of AA appliedIn fact was just playing DCS A10, 1900x1200, 16XQAA + TSAA - smooth as silkthe 570 was great - but I like 8xAA and above, and in those cases I think the 480 pips it - all be it it gets hotter int he process !
