  1. Aamir specifically said they are wrapping up now, all the bugs are fixed and it is just testing and integrating and that it will be weeks NOT months so that implies less than a month. Of course I might be wrong but we will see soon enough. In any case they seem to be building something extremely detailed, with stuff that not even A2A has attempted and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in MSFS. Did anyone notice the commnent about 16 pages worth of changelog JUST for the new avionics? And all that for a FREE upgrade, for an add-on that has been out for over a year! I really do hope their A319-321 sell well because they definitely deserve the money and recognition for such a huge achievement. I hope they stick around for a while in FS2024 and beyond.
  2. End of February seems to be what they are implying, but they have been burnt before by giving estimates so this is purely my own personal understanding of what they have said in there over the last few weeks.
  3. Even the statement that Asobo will provide what the Devs are asking for the WX interface in 2024 is speculation and we have no idea whether that will be again one of those things that the insane Fenix crew will build from scratch, fully custom and running independently.
  4. They also promised a whole host of effects for the engine smoke when the SDK would add the particle effects and they never did anything about it or even mentioned it again, although the SDK has supported it for years now.
  5. Yes, 100%. Just make sure you use 4k textures though, and not the 8k default.
  6. The features & behaviours Aamir mentioned above I have only seen in Accusim aircraft and the fact we have them for a jet engine is amazing. Can't wait to blow up a few engines 🙂
  7. One thing is for sure, they are working their @sses off. Someone from the team mentioned the manhours booked collectively for last month and it was in the tens of thousands. It's coming, but they won't say anything until they're ready to push the upload button. P.S. bear in mind these guys have not been paid after the initial release (which to be fair must have been extremely successful) so if you want to support the Fenix team for more add-ons in the future you have to buy the upcoming expansion packages for A319 and A321. I know it's a day one purchase for me personally.
  8. Finally no performance degradation after a 2 hour flight! Update was a huge pain in the @ss with all the files being corrupted but after reading the tip here on avsim to delete them from the folder and start over it went well without any further issues.
  9. I thought both models were coming together until now so I also believe this is the only way to do this. Good on them for being transparent and best of luck with the release. I'd rather have a nice working plane than a buggy mess that was released before it was ready.
  10. Easyjet is using single engine taxi almost always, both for departure where they start engine #1 halfway through taxi as well as for arrival where they almost instantly turn it off when it has cooled down and coast to the gate with only a single engine. I am not sure if they keep the APU on for that though or if they use crossbleed to start it, that is the question.
  11. I just hope they come out with some other planes soon as I am absolutely not interested in a Comanche, and that's the only reason I haven't bought it yet. I used to fly their C182 in P3D and it pretty much spoilt any other GA regardless of size and speed for me as well. It was alive even within the P3D limitations so I can't wait to see what they do in MSFS.
  12. Thanks for the link, I had it in my to do list but never had the time. It shouldn't crash though, there's a long list of serious bugs that hopefully will get fixed with the first update. I think the worst one is the engines dying when switching cross feed on and off.
  13. Can anyone add a flight plan without the FMC crashing and taking all the avionics with it? It will either do weird stuff like add the same few waypoints ten different times adding tens of pages to the flight plan or it will just create a discontinuity which is not recoverable and the whole system goes haywire after that... It's a good enough plane and I have to say although it's not at Majestic Q400 levels of systems detail, it is much better than the old flight 1 ATR so I would definitely enjoy island hopping in it if I could get the FMC not to crash even once....
  14. This is by far setting a new standard for all airliners in MSFS, payware included... The physics-enabled control surfaces are things that I miss even on Fenix for example or the shake of the cargo doors as they are moved upwards by pressurized actuators... If they bring all this work into the A380 I do not think I will be happy with anything else after that. Fingers crossed the performance is acceptable as creating this huge custom code is one thing, making it run as efficiently as possible is another. Best of luck to the FBW team, I knew there was going to be something special hidden there as they were silently working on the A380 but I never expected such detail and beauty.
  15. Yep, same here it is happening at every flight now with DX12. No problems with DX11 (apart from the reduced performance which I miss from DX12 😢)
  16. I flew a circuit as it came out pretty late for the UK last night and it is a different (better) aircraft. I think as always, Fenix are very humble and underselling a huge amount of work, it feels completely different to fly and the sounds are also completely different, not just adjusted for volume. And according to the point above, we still have the performance update with the screens rewrite to come so even more fluidity and fps ☺️
  17. This is a good point. Post-SU10 the sim will change a lot in the way it is using cpu and gpu resources so it is worth testing with SU10 and deciding the platform you need. It could be that suddenly the 13th gen Intels work better all of a sudden. Saying that, we know that with DLSS nvidia is the way to go for MSFS no matter what.
  18. At this point in time and so close to the release of the 7000 series that has already shown 3D cache variants like this one for gaming, it does not make any sense at all to buy a 5800X3D unless you find one for an irresistible price and you have an ageing AM4 platform that you can revive. If you are buying new m/b and everything like me (coming from a 7700K) it is worth waiting for a couple of months to see what the new stuff will be like and the overall performance for cost ratio. I was tempted to pull the trigger on a 5800X3D that I found for a really low price on offer but I resisted and now I think I will wait regardless.
  19. Seems like the Fenix standard for textures is now being matched by the FBW team. If Fenix made a 380 this is what it would look like... Next level and zero compromise through and through. I can't wait for the rest of the thing!
  20. As this is quoting me, I have to clarify I have both the Fenix and the FBW and enjoy both for different reasons. I confess I am flying the Fenix more and more as the textures and modelling are so obsessively done down to the smallest piece of dirt that it makes you feel like you're there, and the systems are a bit more complete, but I always find myself coming back to the FBW for what I consider superior sounds in some areas, the physics on the cargo doors which are just jaw dropping and the better fps performance. FBW is definitely looking the best payware of all times in the eye, and is still unfinished! I know the Fenix will get more features too but I cannot stop admiring what the FBW has accomplished here already!
  21. I request winds before the flight, and I have noticed it does not change during if I request again. The problem is the descent path starts OK and then suddenly you find yourself 10K feet above where you should be on the STAR. That is regardless of when you add the STAR in, before or after the original ToD point. Anyway, there is so much good stuff in there with the FBW project that even the best payware (Fenix) cannot replicate that I find it unfair to criitcise an unfinished feature like VNAV. I just hope they continue working on it despite the toxic community and give us not just a nice free addon, but possibly the best addon possible for MSFS - exactly because they are not bound by time frames and deliverables. I just hope it comes one day whenever that day may be.
  22. It is absolutely stable. It just doesn't work very well and usually top of descent is way off. But it definitely is stable.
  23. FBW is "almost there" in terms of features but there is still a lot of work left on refining some of them before it is the best add on for MSFS. It's close though. It finally has VNAV but it needs a lot of refining for example. The physics on the cargo doors on the other hand is something I am missing from the best of the payware like the Fenix. It is amazing how they oscillate and feel heavy when they open or close.
  24. It's all relative; I have one of the fastest 1080Ti ever and it struggles at 2K with everything maxed out. If I dial back some settings, sure it's OK and just about maintains 30 fps. Would I call that "butter"? Definitely not. But as I am poor now I am keeping it for as long as I can (that is, until the 4xxx series comes out and I can buy a 3080Ti for cheap).
