April 15, 201115 yr Anyone know the best way to find and fly with GA pilots? All I can find is virtual airlines. Spend about 9 hours today getting VatSim server to work with this so called FSInn stuff. Got it to work just to find that it is just jet pilots flying solo with ATC. Hell, I can do that on the crappy GameSpy server. What a wasted day just to find other pilots to fly with. To me, FSX is not a game but a tool. I find it a shame that you can fly in a shared cockpit and all you find is solo pilots in 747's. Any flying clubs that fly GA? Or am I just stuck with advertizing in the GameSpy server just to constantly boot kids flying 747's? Where are the real pilots using FSX? They have to be somewhere. The learning potential is huge. Pretty dissapointed with that VatSim to say the least. It's just a glorified Gamespy with less, alot less. I don't need any stinking radar. Cheese and rice!!
April 15, 201115 yr Eagle Valley Air is a VAFS-based bush and GA virtual airline. However we don't do shared cockpit or multiplayer very often...Right now we are doing an around the world tour in the Realair Turbine Duke.http://eaglevalleyair.com/ Tired of Streetlights everywhere? April 15, 201115 yr Give vatsim another try - you'll find the amount of GA pilots is definitely increasing. I fly 95% of my flights as some sort of GA plane. If you need to see who is online (ie what controllers are on), try VatSpy:http://www.metacraft.com/VATSpy/ | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
April 15, 201115 yr I will add on to what Kiwikat said.Eagle Valley Air has a route for just about every patch of ground in the FSX world. It is true we don't do a lot of multiplayer flying, but all of our flights are shown live on the VAFS flight map and most days there are at least a handful of pilots flying at once, so it's similar to being in a multilayer server, especially if you have voice.A lot of the members there fly Vatsim regularly, including myself. Also the VAFS system does a pretty good job of acting as a flight map, data recorder, and virtual finance system to gauge your performance.EVA is first and foremost a BUSH flight group. Some of the oldest bush guys in FS have found a home there and love every minute. From the Hawaiian Islands, the Rockey Mountains, or Nepal, even Saidor, we fly it. But like I say EVA gets you there, no matter what. We do GA too, and plenty of it. The 2011 Turbine World Tour is being flown specifically in the B60T from RealAir Simulations and it does one heck of a job with the mountains in Nepal. And, the best part of all this: I can get hours for every hop!
