April 28, 201115 yr My freeware landclass file is Ireland.zip. Is that the one you are using or is there another one?Hi again.I use the landclass files from ireland.zip, Project Ireland Beta 1.b and sometimes the textures from Geoff Steiner-Scott's irltex11.zip (flightsim). In the screenie I think I may have had only FScene textures...Have a good weekend.D
April 30, 201115 yr I use the landclass files from Project Ireland Beta 1.b Dave, do you have a link to where that file may be downloaded from?
April 30, 201115 yr OOPS, Dave, not to worry. Already have it installed. :( http://www.projectireland.com/downloads.htm?OpenAgent
May 1, 201115 yr Hi Al,I hope I'm not treading on any toes by quoting this FS Global 2010 blurb I found at Simshack:I have FS Global 2008 and am quite happy with it (don't mind making my own flattens for those funny airports and enjoy discovering enormous spikes where an extra zero must have been added to the data) but I've read a lot of good stuff about FS Genesis & will probably try that when I feel like an upgrade.Regards,DHiI too have FS Global 2008 but the FS Genesis Mesh looks really good. I installed FS Global at the very early stage of reinstalling FS9 a couple of years ago and since then have added a vast number of airport and scenery addons. It may be a stupid question, but if I was now to uninstall FS Global and change to the FS Genesis Mesh series, does anyone know if that likely to cause a significant number of elevation problems at various pre-existing airports?BillWindows XP Pro SP2; Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz CPU; Arctic Cool 7Pro; ASUS P5N-E-SLI Motherboard;4GB Corsair 800Mhz DDR2 RAM; 768MB nVidia GeForce 8800GTX Dual VGA Graphics card;2x 500GB SATA 7200RPM Hard Drive; 650W (2 x 12V) PSU; 2 x 1000GB + 1 x 150GB Western Digital External Hard Drive; CH Pro Yoke and PedalsAll helping to power 302GB of fs9!
May 3, 201115 yr ...does anyone know if that likely to cause a significant number of elevation problems at various pre-existing airports?I don't imagine it would mess things up too badly, if at all. Both Global and Genesis look pretty accurate, which is to say they both show the correct elevations. I think Genesis is more precise, showing finer detail.Since airports are pretty flat they ought to be compatible with both meshes. The only exceptions might be tiny fields in mountainous country or farm fields in small-hill country. Any flat ground is likely to be the same in both meshes.Btrjet, I'm sorry. I got confused at the end of a long day... My textures are FScene only, and I use both ireland.zip landclass data and irltex11.zip landclass data... The former on top of the latter gives slightly more detail. I'm glad you found the link.Regards and apologies,Dave
