April 25, 201115 yr My dear AVSimmers, I need your help with this poll. This poll strictly applies to SB users, especially those at 4Ghz+.Clarifications:BP=0 - Usepools=0, Bufferpools=0 in FSX.CFGExternal Limiter - FPS Limiter or the alternativeRT=xxx - RejectThreshold=xxx, whatever the value (you are welcome to post any details). The reason for this thread is that since I got a new computer, there is NO WAY to get BP=0 to work. It crashes the sim, no matter what.I would like to know if there are some and how many that run BP=0 with new SB processors. If any out there...Thank you in advance.

April 25, 201115 yr Commercial Member I don't use an external limiter because it messes with FSX's thread scheduler and can cause instability - so I choose option 1 with one caveat: you will more than likely get a CTD with BP=0 in PNW or NRM.jja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist

It crashes the sim, no matter what.I would like to know if there are some and how many that run BP=0 with new SB processors. If any out there...My SB is at 5.0 Ghz and I've not had have any problems. I'm currently using RejectThreshold (don't remember the value) but I've also tried UsePools=0.I have the FPS set to unlimited within FSX and I use Antilag as external limiter (haven't tried the old "FPS limiter"). Using 2 x GTX580 in Surround mode.Does it crash even when not overclocked?Vote added.
April 27, 201115 yr The only "tweak" I use in FSX.cfg is in the Graphics section - HIGHMEMFIX=1Best regards,JimJim, are you running internally limited or externally? My SB is at 5.0 Ghz and I've not had have any problems. Using 2 x GTX580 in Surround mode.Does it crash even when not overclocked?Vote added.Yes. Tested at stock too. While it took a while to crash, it did crash eventually. And please mark that I loaded the sim pretty much - meaning panning around, switching views etc... to stress the system.
April 28, 201115 yr Only tweak I use is highmemfix = 1I then use external limiter set to 30 fps.That's all! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 28, 201115 yr My vote was for None of the above:Use BP=0 with no external limiter. Use Vsync ON in 3D to control FPS behaviour (up-downs)Video driver=266.77 Pierre I9 14900K 5.5 64gb ram 6800 RTX5090 Asus Strix Gaming E
April 28, 201115 yr and here I'm BP=0, frames set to unlimited. I haven't tried the FPS Limiter_v2 since the upgrade.Paul, now that I've found one, we gotta discuss this a bit :( My FSX is deciseively crashing when I want BP=0. No matter what I set.Can you tell me, did you have any crashes, even the ones you can't explain? What settings are you using in the Nvidia Inspector? What FSX settings in general (make couple of shots of you settings in FSX)?LOD?TML?Using ENB?All these things play a role in BP=0, since it seems like my wish-settings were crashing all the time. Then I run all default, but high settings in FSX and was still crashing.....And also, my tests consist of multiple switching between windowed and full screen, and then going external view in FSXMark11, 0.30 zoom, paning around like crazy, going back to VC, paning, going again ext, then windowed, then back, etc...until it crashes... usually takes less than 2minutes... if it's over, then it's probably stable. Then I jus test it for some while in normal usage - just simple load a flight, aircraft, VC, taxi around, use heavy clouds etc.I found when I had BP=0, I would always had a crash - earlier or later...My vote was for None of the above:Use BP=0 with no external limiter.FSX settings?Nvidia Inspector (using it?) settings?

No - none What FSX settings in general (make couple of shots of you settings in FSX)? I have eleven cfg files, selectable from a batch file, Kos.
