Can't communicate with ground for push back

Recommended Posts

I just got this program a few days ago, and I'm trying to get use to it. So far I'm flowing through the 1st few check list just fine. However, I'm stumped when it comes to the push back procedure. I can't get the program to speak to the ground crew for push back, and if I try to do it the old fashion way with Level-D's interface, it crashes to desktop.

Hi Johnny,I am at work so I haven't got the manual in front of me.From memory there are a couple of things to check.- Is the parking brake set?- Is 'Pushback' selected in the Configuration menu?- Does the green bar display 'Cockpit to Ground' when you make the initial call?- The command to request pushback has to be very clear, from memory its something like "We are ready for the pushback and engine start" (you must even say 'the' within the phrase - refer the manual for exact words)- I can't remember if the 'Mode' that is displayed is "Engine Start' or 'Pushback etc' .... please double check what mode is showing on the FS2Crew display panel ... obviously double check the manual to what 'Mode' should be displayed for this command to function.-Has the timer 'ie the time to Engine start reached zero? .... from memory you can't commence this command until the pre-flight sequence has reached zero.If you still have issues let me know and I will double check this evening.Regards Dave

Thanks Dave for responding. I'll double check the manual again to see if I missed a step. I'm also at work right now, but I know for sure that I did let the timer reach zero before trying to start the engines. Parking breaks were on, almost positive on the pushback configuration, but I'm not sure I said the phrase correctly. I'll try again this evening and will update you on what happens.

The phrase needs to be exact, and make sure you're in the right mode as displayed on the FS2Crew panel.Cheers,
