Hi Tom, I was wondering if Avsim would consider revising the statement at the top of the screen regarding the death of Bin Laden. This is the part I have trouble with, "Remember, ours is a global community. Our members come from nearly every country in the world." Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to suggest that we might have members who are upset that the terrorist leader was killed. I also found this message very disturbing when I entered the site today. I think this message should be removed because this topic doesn´t belong to the FS world or affect us in any way. He got killed, well, who cares? One bad boy less on earth.

I think that it looks a little odd, however I believe that any posts not related to aviation/simulation should be carried out elsewhere. I don't come to AVSIM to hear about or discuss world events out of the scope of my hobby. But like I said it did look a little weird seeing it.

Jeff, I am not suggesting anything of the kind. Any topic with this subject is at risk of exploding. That's what we are trying to prevent. And that is why when finished with this response, I am going to lock this topic. And, I can 100% assure you that we do have readers that are upset with the death of OBL. This is a flight simulation community. That's the common interest we shrare. OBL is one that we don't and discussions, teeth knashing and pounding fists on the table (via forum messages) is not something appropriate here and in our common interest.
