December 28, 200322 yr Man I don't know. I always have lots of free memory happening with 1GB of ram. Never touchs most of it, even in complex situations. I have even gone so far as to install a ramdisk to fool the system into NOT paging to a hard drive. I noticed no diff in FS performance, though more ram was used with this setup. Then again, I don't have lockups or crashes with FS, except for the CTD that is pretty much confirmed to be related to textures at certain times of the seaonal transitions. Come to think of it, I do have some odd issues with textures not loading on aircraft exteriors on occasion, which occurs if I've had the game running a while. I am hoping a 256mb video card will improve on this area. I'd like to see someone post a screenshot of have almost no free ram in a 1GB system using TaskMan.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. December 28, 200322 yr I run a Radeon 9800 Pro with Turtle Beach Voyatera, and even with Catalyst 3.9 if I switch from Fullscreen to regular mode or dare to open menus too many times in full screen I get a semi-crash - sound disappears, frame rates drop to 2, and a full reboot is needed to get sound back. Exiting and reloading FS 9 does not bring back the sound. Soundcard diagnostics say the card is broken, but full boot brings everything back on line until the next time. Very frustrating.I can say this most recent time I had plenty of page file memory left.Greg Greg Clark
December 29, 200322 yr Hi,Thanks for your reply. I've seen the thread(s) now, but I need to do some more testing before I will say it's a PSS problem only. That these beautiful aircraft use a lot of memory is only natural, however reaching into the GB range is a bit too much. But as I said, I need to do some more testing - it could also be a combination of scenery and the 'bus, especially since I run it in 1600x1200x32.Will keep you postedBRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH
