Diary of a frustrated love ....

And then you masters! Here is an almost emotional appeal of a crazy in love. Were 8 months reading, studying, trying, making mistakes, formatting and all that you can imagine. I purchased this machine here G51J-X ASUS - I7-720/6GB/GF360GTS 1GB/HD500GB in order to use my Visual Basic, see my movies, edit them, play my pro-evolution, Call of Duty, and others do my work and everything else and of course, fly in FSX. It works PERFECTLY for all cited less in FSX! Have rates of 5 to 12fps using any plane within the VC. Not counting the "snapped" that are constants that make any approximations is impossible! I tried everything: Tweak, Bojote site, format HD, install the FSX 250 000 time, installing FSUIPC, Uninstall, clean connectors with rubber and alcohol isopropyl, Nhac, Nvidia inspector, updated drivers, changed the hd original by a seagate Momentus XT, upgraded BIOS, defragged, cleaned windows registry, turned off ALL services "superfluous" and left only the basic, I used FPLimiter, at least put everything in FSX (with everything in Tó "Sparse"), cloudless sky and nothing .... But as I am passionate, I come here and try one last appeal, who knows, someone might have some light at the end of the tunnel. Do not even think about spending time and less money in this hobby has become q a nightmare. Now, thank you to all who read this topic and may not even help. Thanks! Translated with google

A laptop with a 1.6 GHz processor is not going to give you a good FSXexperience - no matter how much you try to tweak it.I would suggest installing FS2004 (FS9) instead. It should work OKon your system.

Hi!Do you know the " INTEL TURBO BOOST Technology " for these processers? They are able to reach 2.8GHZ when is necessary! Here : http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43122Even so, you think i am not able to run FSX?Thanks!

Correct...you need to read more on how Intel's turboboost really works. You can only get to the maximum 2.8GHz when the computer has a single core actively processing, and since FSX uses all available cores, that condition does not occur. The speed increase varies based on active cores, CPU load, power consumption, and temperature...I'd be surprised if you're even hitting 2 GHz with FSX running.Second, the GTS360 mobile GPU is a real lightweight when it comes to FSX.Unfortunately, no amount of config tweaking, cleaning, or even a professional church-sanctioned exorcism will make your laptop powerful enough to run FSX well. As another poster mentioned, FS9 would be a much better option on that machine. I run FS9 on my laptop for the same reasons.

You really need 4GHz+ to run FSX well. A lot of the guys here are now running Sandy Bridge K processors at 4.5 to 5GHz. An i5-2500k and a GTX560 will get you running FSX quite happily without spending too much money.

The i7 720 is Ok for FSX, just remember to switch on Turbo Boost, and I´m not talking Asus Boost, which is useless!I have the G73JH, i7 720 / ATI 5870, and FPS around 25-30 - locked @ 30 with ext. FPS Limiter. You may try to turn off some of the virtual cores in Task Manager, and run it with 3 cores, but watch the temps!FSB overclock is possible with the right tool, but you will only gain a little, and the temps, man the temps...Praying.gifSet-up and settings as per Nick Needham and Senor Bojote!Turn down cars to 5%, boats 10%, AI Traffic 20-25%, Airport Vehicles min. or none...http://www.simforums...187.html#198187Your problem is the GF 360 I guess...

Daniel - I cannot believe your story: if you are passionate, why did you even buy this machine in the first place??There are hundreds of posts regarding "What is a good machine to run FSX on?", and 90% of all those posters suggest a processor speed of 3.8 gig upwards, with a gpu to match; i.e. GTX 460, 480 560, 590, ATI 5xxx series, etc.. 2.8 doesn't even come close to giving you the thrill of simulated flight that a 4 gig will. Sell it, keep it, but build yourself a capable computer that you can really use and enjoy for many years - upgrading it every three or four years. This is what most of us "old guys" do, and have been doing for twenty years or more.
