Need some help from someone other than support.

Ok, so I am currently trying to use vroute to import flightplans into my PMDG 747x, vroute claims the problem is with PMDG, PMDG claims the problem is with the current cycles. No one is giving me anything to do. So I come here as a last ditch effort to get any sort of answer. vroute uses 1105, and the support claims there are no issues with PMDG currently. I am apparently the only person on the planet experiencing problems. If it is not the current cycle list, if it is not solved simply by uninstalling and reinstalling. What can I do short of just forgetting both programs? I'm getting fed up. I paid a lot of money for the 747x and it doesn't work the way it should, and the support isn't helping at all. Maybe someone smarter than the PMDG support can give me an answer other than the AIARC cycles, or however they are spelled. THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE. Do not post unless there is something I can do other than read its the cycles.

The only way to find out if the problem is on the vroute side would be to use another flight plan generator for testing. The only way to find out if the current (vroute used) cycle fails on the 747, is to change to e. g. 1104 (therefore another cylce) and then export a plan.So if you can e. g. use FSC flight plans based on 1105, vroute may have a problem. And if vroute works if you set up 1104 there (don't know if this is possible though), 1105 may be the cause, and so on.

Just enter them yourself! So easy and fun when you learn how to do itMany youtube videos but I highly recommend the Angle of Attack videos can't say enough about them

What happens when you try to import the plans in the 747x?What airac cycle do you have loaded into the 747?I don't use vroute but I know with either fsbuild or fsc I have to update the airac and I also have to update the airac for each of my planes. Without knowing what your problem is exactly it's hard for us to try and helpIf you want I can make a plan on FSC for you and send it too you to test with?

Sounds like he never updated his navdata for the PMDG itself and it is freaking out with the flight plans from the latest cycles into the old non updated pmdg fmc

If you read, I did say that my cycle was the correct one. My next question is how do I update the navdata? I've never had to before.
How have you got the correct cycle if you need to update it. Have you been to the navdata web site? In the ident page of your FMC, what cycle does it say ? May to june ? Sounds like user error to me. You have to update the cycles every month after paying for a monthly cylcle. Have you done that ? More information in, means more information out.

Patrick, they are just telling you that the FMC database should match the flight planner one in case of the navdata cyle date. So if you export stuff with 1105, the PMDG 747 FMC should have 1105 installed too since only then it is assured that both systems "know" the same waypoints for example. So you don't have to buy anything, but make sure that your flight planner doesn't distract the FMC with too current data. You can do this by using the same cycle on both systems, this can even be an older one.If you've bought e. g. 1105 from Navigraph you can download all formats (including the PMDG one) there. Run the installer and check that the FMC is now updated to 1105, same one as your flight planner. This should avoid nav data trouble leading to problems. :(

I am not paying per month just to keep this plane working right. Why have I never had to "update the navdata" ever in the past couple of years that I have owned this plane? Now suddenly I have to "pay per month" to use the right cycle. vroute uses 1105, what is different about this month compared to two months ago? What is so special about navdata anyway? I'd rather just enter the data manually. Nice to know I wasted money on vroute.I will be promptly deleting that program, since it no longer does what I want it to.Patrick Boynton
ok
By the way, without help from anyone on either site I think I solved my problem.
I could bet that you're not the only one who's happy now. :(
