Too many things not working

Featured Replies

I purchased 747-400X several weeks ago and it is a constant struggle in getting anything to work right! The only thing that works is the engine thrust. Non of the call outs are working, none of the controls work, (other then the thrust and flaps) None of the instrument panels light up at night except for the dash portion. Can anyone help? I have windows 7 and FSX.

have u checked the options to enable the callouts. The controls would be a joystick/yoke issue. The panel light up is on the the overhead panel - might help to let us know what graphic card u are using and check for the latest drivers. Also read the manual

I have checked the call out selections but still not working. As I stated in my post, nothing is working in the cockpit except the thrust and flaps. The instruction manual is useless for trouble shooting.

Don't know why my name does not come up. I am a registered user. How can I place a support ticket when there is not a site to place one? Nothing but the forum to go from. I paid $50 for the 747-400X CD weeks ago and have been struggling to get installed correctly for several weeks without success. I would not have purchased if I knew how much grief there is in installing. Sorry, but I am completely frustrated with this whole issue and finding it was not worth the price for the problems involved. The CD did not state that good knowledge of software trouble shooting may be required for installation.

What Peter meant was to include your name in all your PMDG post's as per their rules. Add it to your sig and you will not have a problem. As a registered user you will have access to support from PMDG. If you are not registered then do so, once logged in you will see a link to "Submit a new Ticket", above that you will see a link to the "Knowledge Base", here is the link to register:http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspxA good way to learn the 747X is to fly using the tutorial that comes with the installation, or you can visit the PMDG site once again and download the Type Rating Lessons:http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/docs.htmlGood luck.

I purchased the CD version as well and have had zero issues with the installation and operation of this aircraft. The only issue it has to my knowledge is the flickering virtual cockpit overhead textures when the dome light is turned on.
