June 2, 201115 yr Bryan, I am loving the FS2crew module for the FSX iFLY NG. With the NG having so many more switches for the First Officer to handle versus my other airliners, I really appreciate having a virtual copilot with me that much more. I know that the workflows here are modeled on a single or the average of SOPs used in real life, but I have noticed some things that were not operating according to my past experience in other jetliners and wanted to know if they are not modeled because they are not a part of NG procedures, or if they should be added to the simulation in a service pack. I am really looking forward to the PMDG NGX and its FS2crew adaptation, so if my concerns can be addressed before you take on that project, it would be prudent for me to ask now rather than later.Packs off takeoffIn just about every other Boeing, SOP will usually dictate that engine bleeds remain on during takeoff, but the copilot will turn the packs off during the takeoff run, and restore them after the transition to climb thrust. I know in the NG there are bleeds off takeoffs, with the APU supplying bleed air to the air conditioning packs/airframe pressurization until climb thrust, when the APU and APU bleeds are turned off and the engine bleeds are restored. I am accustomed to the packs off method, and I see its absent in the IFLY FS2crew. Is this an omission that can/should be corrected, or is this a procedure never used in the NG? For the time being, I tell FS2crew I will use a bleeds on takeoff, but I have to manually turn off the packs during takeoff, and then restore after climb thrust (or when I can, because this is very hard to do when manually flying the aircraft) I'd so much prefer to have this added to the script so that copilot handles this task for me, saving me some work, but only if its practiced in the real world.Gear up callOther FS2crew modules have the copilot automatically retract the landing gear during the takeoff climb, yet here, I have to ask him via command. Is there a reason for this? It would be easier/one less step during a crucial task to have the copilot automatically retract the gear, as I have my fscrew buttons assigned to a separate throttle, and both my hands are on my CH yoke, and I find it uncomfortable to have to move my hand just to ask him to retract the gear, while at the same time trying to follow the initial flight director commands. I would think that 99% of the time, once the copilot announces positive rate, the captain commands gear up, so why make the user click the button just for this step? Cargo Doors in PreflightI'm pretty sure that during preflight the cargo doors are never opened in this version of FS2crew. The main cabin door opens fine. Just curious, is this an anomaly on my end, or can it be added to the script? Just so you know, the cargo doors correctly open at the gate during shutdown at the destination.Wings LightOk, the wing lights are not functional (at least not yet) on the iFLY, but as with other Boeings, I normally turn on the wing lights (even during the day) when I receive takeoff clearance. They remain on until passing 10,000 feet. I'm not positive if this is SOP globally, but I have noticed that the FSCrew for the PMDG 747 and this plane do not have the copilot flip the wing lights on. Can this task be assigned to the copilot , if not for the iFLY, can you be sure to include as an option in the PMDG version? Again, only if this task is practiced by the majority of RL carriers.I'm not trying to nitpick, but I tend to be a perfectionist, and would rather have your robust software handle as much of the copilots workflow as possible so I can enjoy flying as PF to the fullest extent. And as I said before, if it's too late to fix in the iFLY NG, I want to be sure such issues are taken into consideration when you work on the PMDG NGX.Thanks for your time, I am really enjoying the immersion factor with FS2crew onboard my iFLY NG!! I think you mean 'Bleeds off Takeoffs" and yes, they're modeled. Select Bleeds Off in the Dep Brief. We also modeled bleeds off arrivals (you can set it via the Approach brief).2. Gear up call: Just the way we did it this time. Why not just tie the FS2Crew main button to a joystick button if it's awkward pressing a button?3. Cargo doors should open a few minutes after you start the PF (pre-flight) events by pressing 'Run PF'.4. Wing lights during takeoff: Never heard of that before, but our 737 consultant, Damien, never mentioned that. At some other airlines maybe they do that, I don't know.Glad you like FS2Crew! B. It's a no engine bleed takeoff with the APU inoperative." (which will be modeled in a coming update) The term "packs off" is actually an incorrect term in the 737 it's "unpressurized takeoff". There's an actual "packs off" takeoff in the 777, 747, 757, 767 where you turn off the pack literally, but NOT in the 737.2)The correct procedure is:After rotation and positive rate of climb establishedPM: "Positive Rate"PF: "Gear Up"PM: "Set's landing gear up"3)Cargo Doors in Preflight should automatically open, check you have "doors" on the config panel set to yes and that you are running no other programs that open/close the doors.4)Wing lights during takeoff is purely airline specific,..some do some don't.RegardsDamien WeekesCaptain 737 BBJ Damien WeekesCaptain 737NG / A319/20/21
