June 3, 201115 yr Hey guys, yesterday i finished my new rig, installed FSX and is fine, from my previous Q9550@4GHZ and GTX 275, the main difference is how smooth the sim is now, and i locked fps in 30, and never drops, in a quick take off from KLGA, because my old rig was not good at this area, of course, no tweaks, addons, nothing installed, i will spend today and tomorrow for install all the things. And, install things and loading times is AMAZING compared with C2Q, i dont know if it is because of Sata3 drive, or the processor, but the system is really amazing, well, compared with my old. and i tested FSX with the same AA settings, 8xSQ.Now the Questions, my memory is a G.skill RipjawsX 1600mhz, at 7-8-7-24 at 1.5v, ok, but, i can have it stable at 1600@ 6-8-6-24 1.5v, or 1866@ 8-9-8-24 1.6V, i have it at 1866 right now, totally stable, but i dont know what can be better, low latency or 1866 and higher latency...Now the 2500K, i have it at 4.5 and 1.4V, stable, but it downclocks to 1.6ghz when in windows, is that normal or i have to touch something more in the bios? keep in mind my mobo is Z68 not P67, i dont know if there are some differences..My Graphics card is OCed succesfully, is EXTREMLY LOUD at 100% fan, 4250rpm, 2 Fans....Thats all, i will finish some things and will do a FSXmark! Thanks! 7800X3D / 7900XTX / ROG STRIX B650-A / Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6000mhz, etc etc.
June 3, 201115 yr 1.4 at 4.5ghz? You might try lowering that. I am at 1.3 at 4.4ghz. Also the downclocking is a feature. When there is low load on the cpu it will downclock to that.
June 3, 201115 yr Some say lower latency is better and 1600 is plenty for FSX. I have mine personally at 1866 as I can see no difference really.Downclocking is OK, you can disable it if it bothers you (disable C1E and Intel Speedstep in BIOS).I am running my 2600K at 1.52V 5.0Ghz. If it dies, it was ment to :Black Eye: -> It's only hardware! Besides, I get veeeery nice performance at 5Ghz.
June 3, 201115 yr Wow looks great, very close to the system I want to build. What case is that ? Mark CYYZ

June 3, 201115 yr Well, following This Review of my mobo, it says 1.4 is stable for a 2500K, but what i can put? 1.35?Dude, please PLEASE don't tell me you are setting Vcore "according to some review".First of all, if that's your way of overclocking, you should stop, right about now.2nd, it may be correct.3rd, you must do it properly, otherwise chances are you are setting Vcore totally wrong. Wrong (too high) Vcore for specific VID is deadly. This is a good start:http://www.techreaction.net/2011/01/04/3-step-overclocking-guide-%E2%80%93-sandy-bridge-v0-1beta/And this is good additional info:http://www.overclock.net/intel-general/910467-ultimate-sandy-bridge-oc-guide-p67a.htmlAnd if I misunderstood, I apologize in front...

Your overclock will probably be stable but at the expense of putting extra heat and voltage through you CPU which will lower its longevity. I run 4.5 ghz at about 1.31 vcore. I had to use voltage offset though, because my motherboard's llc setting barely works and I get horrible vdroop. Alfredo Terrero
June 4, 201115 yr Author Well, after reset all my settings in bios, after hour of reading, tests, and BSOD, i finally managed 4.5 at 1.31v, and llc in value 10 (enabled) and XMP activated on memory, all the night on prime 95 and no error or bsod, temps was 63c at 8am when i turned it off. You could probably hit 4.7 or 4.8 and still below 1.37V. Your call of course
June 4, 201115 yr Looks good Paul, great job. You could probably hit 4.7 or 4.8 and still below 1.37V. Your call of course I believe he could hit a good 5.0 with this chip, and that with a very good Vcore. But trying is always one owns risk
June 5, 201114 yr Author Hehehehe, well, summer in Barcelona is hot, i will try 4.7 in october hehehe..thanks 7800X3D / 7900XTX / ROG STRIX B650-A / Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6000mhz, etc etc.
