Hi All.I am still having issues with my FS as I approach on final. It seems consistently that when I capture the LOC, then press Approach, once about 15 miles from the end of the runway..... poof. The picture freezes and I get an automatic shutdown. Not to pleased after flying from EGLL to "almost VHHH just to get 10 miles away to the most exciting part of the flight to have it shutdown.I've looked at other threads and tried changing the sliders back to default bla bla bla and still I can't seem o figure it out. Please contact me if you have any ideas. And please keep it simple. I'm not too bright on the computer, just want to fly man. Many thank in advance.

Does the PC shutdown completely or is it a crash to desktop?

Just to Desk Top. I get a Big Red Stop Sign which in it says that FS did not shutdown properly and that I should reboot.

I too had issues with FSX crashing right before I landed. My issue was/has been corrected after I replaced the file uiautomationcore.dll.Check out the following link: FSX CTDYou can download the file here: Mediafire - UIAutomationCore.zipHope this helps.

One more thing, I first made backups and then removed the files as outlined in the link I provided. FSX ran with no issues. However, I soon found that there was another program I ran on my PC that also used the file uiautomationcore.dll. I then copied the new file (that I had downloaded) and placed it back into the system32 and syswow64 directory. I re-added it using the regsvr32 command. Since I did that, FSX has and still runs with no issues.

So you have the 'g3d.dll' error. There's a lot of discussion about this in the CTD forum and you can Google 'g3d.dll error' and you'll come up with a lot of discussions, not only in AVSIM, but also in other Fltsim websites. There is no magic bullet or any known fix but most have fixed it by completely uninstalling your display drivers, then running a free registry cleaner, then reinstalling the display drivers. Best regards,Jim

Thanks Jim. I'll give that a try. Please excuse my complete ignorance with the following questions but...unsure.gif I'm not too bright when it comes to this sort of stuff.1) Do I have to un-install any of the FS add-ons including FSX?2) Is or, are the display drivers anything to do with the Video Card I have and, can be re-installed by using the included drivers from that? And finally 3) What exactly is a free registry cleaner and can you recommend one? Thanks in advance. I truly appreciate your help.

Good luck. After 5 years I still get CTDs with FSX and nobody knows how to fix it.New system (new hardware), new windows (win7 vs winXP), ati instead of nvidia, completely fresh FSX install. And still I get stackhash BEP CTDs.It's useless.Let's hope ms flight will be better with a fresh start

Yeah, I also get them from time to time, but it's usually with specific aircraft at specific places. For example, FSX always crashes with the QW757, close to MGGT. I have a simple solution: save the flight. When I then reload that saved flight, I can usually progress without any trouble. I have landed at MGGt with the QW757 after reloading saved flights without further issues.I'm sorry I can't offer more assistance... Saving flights at periodic intervals is the only for I found to somewhat deal with these problems.

Saving the flight doesn't work.My FMC gets reset, as does my proflight emulator and fspassengersx
