June 4, 201115 yr Saving the flight doesn't work.My FMC gets reset, as does my proflight emulator and fspassengersxFor me it works... Of course, depending on the aircraft, the panel is saved or not. If the panel is not saved in its entirety, then saving is of course not an option. What plane are you using? Most addons I use save the panel state, including the FMC. June 4, 201115 yr PMDG, Level-D 767 etc.Of course they allow me to save panel state and then load it, but it's too much of a hassle. Also, fspassengerX doesn't allow saving/reloading for obvious reasons. And my PFE ATC won't continue either. The PMDG birds usually load the state with the flight, although you'll have to reengage VNAV on the 747. Can't remember how well it worked on the MD-11. The J41 indeed doesn't save the FMC, but it's very easy to reenter the flightplan and continue flying. That is, if you have it stored as a company route. On the 767 you'll indeed have to go into the 767 submenu and load the correct state. If that's too much of a hassle, then well... Although yeah, as you state, if you use other products that don't support saving and reloading, then it's not an option. I actually thought PFE had a way to save a "ATC state" or whatever you want to call it. I remember reading about it - it's what eventually prompted me to buy it. Never used it though... June 4, 201115 yr A few other things to tryget rid of 4x supersampling if you are using nvidia settingsput your framerate lock to unlimitedthen rebuild your fsx.cfg file by moving the old one to your desktopAlso I'd recommend disabling UAC since you installed fsx to your program files group
June 12, 201114 yr Thanks Jim. I'll give that a try. Please excuse my complete ignorance with the following questions but... I'm not too bright when it comes to this sort of stuff.1) Do I have to un-install any of the FS add-ons including FSX?2) Is or, are the display drivers anything to do with the Video Card I have and, can be re-installed by using the included drivers from that? And finally 3) What exactly is a free registry cleaner and can you recommend one? Thanks in advance. I truly appreciate your help.Apologize for not getting right back to answer your questions! You do not have to uninstall any of the FS addons or FSX. Yes, the display drivers run the video card you have in your system. The best way to clean your system of old display drivers pertaining to your video card is to right click the Computer icon on your desktop(or hit the Start button and right click Computer in the Menu>Select Properties>Click on Device Manager>Click on Display Adapters and double click on your video card>Click on the Driver Tab and Select Uninstall>Warning Message comes up and place an x in the box where it states "delete the driver software for this device". Your display drivers will be completely uninstalled (it does a much better job of uninstalling display drivers than using the Add/Remove Windows program). Now you can either reinstall the latest display driver for your video card or run one of the free registry cleaners to make sure all Nvidia entries have been removed. The best free registry cleaner I have found is part of Advanced SystemCare. They have a freeware version and a payware version. It does such a good job cleaning my system occasionally I bought the payware version but it is just as effective for the most part with the freeware version. Here's the link: http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html. Once you run the registry cleaner, reinstall the video card display drivers. Hope this helps.Best regards,Jim
