June 6, 201114 yr Sounds like maybe the FS9\effects folder or its contents got deleted. June 6, 201114 yr Author Thank you Steffen and Bob Scott, sir for your quick replies. Steffen, I just re-installed FS9 about 2 months ago for other problems.Mr. Scott, I looked at my FS9 effects folder and was very surprised that the only effects in the folder were ofadd-on's, third party, and payware. So, I'm wondering, how do I see other effects in different aircraft. It's as if I have another effects folder somewhere.Would you happen to know which FS9 install disk has the default effects folder on it and is it named "effects". I can't hurt it anymore than it already is.Thank you both.Mike
June 6, 201114 yr Would you happen to know which FS9 install disk has the default effects folder on it and is it named "effects". I can't hurt it anymore than it already is.The contents of the effects folder are on install disk 1, in MSGAME1.cab. Look for files beginning with fx_, and extract to your FS9/effects folder. Can't see that it would hurt anything; hope it works.
June 6, 201114 yr Would you happen to know which FS9 install disk has the default effects folder on it and is it named "effects". MikeTim has already answered your question regarding where the files are on the install disks but you might want to keep the following information available for future reference:http://www.cat-tamer.com/flightsim/faq001.htmlIt shows where everything is on your install disks and how extract just what you need.I also recommend fs9cddir.zip - compiled by Brian Collins (available here in the library)This is an Excel format listing of all the files on your install disks. A great resource to keep handy.Good Luck!
