June 8, 201114 yr Hi Guys,New to the forum here, just wondering does anyone know what is the brightest spotlight.bmp I can use for the default 737-800 and the 747-400 Default FSX aircraft, I am using acceleration and know the acceleration makes the lights on the runway fairly dim.Does anyone know what is the best way to make these lights the most brightest using any addons or modifying the spotlight or whatever method you use, and if you possibly have a screenshot of the results using your default 737 and 747 with acceleration.many thanks for any assistance here. With regardsMat

June 9, 201114 yr Author Probably ought to check out A2A's 3D Lights:http://www.a2asimula...1&products_id=1AlThanks Chock, I am actually testing the A2A ones ATM, they are still quite dark. Does anyone else have this issue with Default FSX aircraft using acceleration and does anyone else have any modified Spotlight.bmp's or any other ways of making the landing light brighter.TNCM is a perfect example as the runway lights are real dark and it makes it increibly difficult to land with landing lights so dark.PLEASE HELP anyone....regards
June 9, 201114 yr Commercial Member You're pretty much stuck as the FSX landing lights is mostly hard coded as part of FSX. The only thing you can change is spotlight.bmp and my one has the brightest possible colouring (ie full white).Aircraft such as the Lotussim L-39 and Aerosoft Airbus use a custom made landing light that works much the same as the default FSX landing light except for one important difference, how the Source and Destination are blended. Unfortunately, this is hard coded as part of the model (or part of FSX in the case of the default landing lights) and you can't really change it. www.antsairplanes.com
June 9, 201114 yr Author Hi anthony,Would it be possible to try your spotlight.bmp, could I get a copy from you? my email is: [email protected] - Many thanks
June 9, 201114 yr Commercial Member No need to Mat as you already have it installed. I am using the default spotlight.bmp texture that comes with FSX and the centre of that is just all white. www.antsairplanes.com

Also, Xenon Lights 3.0 by Dirk Kurze.Be careful to backup your default Spotlight.bmp before installing your new choice. Hope this helps.Chris David

January 25, 201214 yr Moderator TNCM is a perfect example as the runway lights are real dark and it makes it increibly difficult to land with landing lights so dark.So far, everyone has replied as if you were asking about the aircraft's landing lights, but no one's suggested increasing the visibility of the runway's edge lighting. You can manually adjust all the lights in the FS.cfg but this is a global setting.add the following lines to the display section[Display]TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.5TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=0.5TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=0.8TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR =0.8 All surface lights include runway, apron and taxiways.change the = value up or down Fr.
