I read a post today concerning taxi instructions, though I'm happy with my purchase of RC, I do feel that taxi instructions are an essential. I was wondering if it is possible to use the same system that FS uses in issuing taxi instructions? From what I understand the FS reads each AFCAD, and based on taxiway designators and taxi links, ATC is able to issue correct taxi instructions. Is this not a possibility for the RC engine? Thanks.

RC4 does not issue taxi route instructions. It has been tested in a later version alpha.Some users have an additional add-on that supplies a departure and arrival taxi route with diagram.For departure RC just gives you a general heading to the threshold or runway beginning and distance to it. I use airport diagrams and if necessary taxi in overhead view.If you can't locate an airport diagram use an airport editor program to print out the runway, taxiway, and parking layout.

Yeah, I know, I own RC, but what I really was trying to suggest is that somehow default ATC can issue taxi instructions, because FS reads the airport afcads, which include taxiway designators and taxi links. So what I was proposing is that maybe RC can be modified to do the same, because it too reads the AFCADs, that's how it knows runways headings and what not.

I doubt any mods will be done to version 4 now seeing as they are working on getting version 5 out the door, but I do hope v5 will have taxi instructions to and from the gate, I use PFE also and it has taxi instructions, so it is possible.
