Real-time video of flight

Featured Replies

Hi all,There was a thread here a few days ago on someone putting up a real-time video of a flight on FSX.I found the idea very interesting and exciting! I'm curious as to how that can be done without significantly affecting performance and while maintaining decent resolution.Hmm, just thought of something a little bit crazier. Now I may be totally out to lunch on this one, but can you not have someone fly FSX vicariously through my computer using their controls and their own monitor without even having FSX installed on their computer? FYI I am completely tech illiterate so I really hope I'm not asking if pigs can bark. Has anyone any ideas on this? Has anyone tried this before? :-)

You can use Fraps to record your flying real time, Fraps is payware. You can also use FSRecorder which is free to record flights as data files which you can later play back and fly along with.If you have Fraps and FSRecorder you can then record you flying along with multiple aircraft all at the same time.I haven't had a proper go at this yet but I've seen videos by others that use the feature and it works great and doesn't impact massively on FPS.CheersMartin

Neither of which allows realtime streaming to the Internet which is what the OP is speaking of I think..To the OP this other person maybe using a hardware video capture device inline with the VGA/DVI cable to the monitor and then streaming it to the net from another machine.

Cheers, Andy.

Ernie Alston made this program and accompanying website with which every a few seconds or so, a still image would be captured and uploaded, and thus one could follow the entire flight live. it's not a video, but it's probably the closest to a live stream we can get. I actually thought it was this:http://www.viras.org/fv/But it seems to be gone. I get an Error.

FS Flight Keeper can do that screenshot capture thing amongst a myriad of other features.

Cheers, Andy.

My Mistake, misunderstood the OP's request. Could he use something like net meeting and just share the desktop, in read only mode of course. Don't know if that's possible, probably cause too much lag.Just a thought.CheersMart.

You can try Microsoft SharedView, but as Mart previously added, probably will cause too much lagregards,Igor
