July 5, 201114 yr Hi,I've been running FSX SP2 with no issues. I recently did a full clean install having built a new computer (thanks to Ryan’s advice on this forum) and have all add-ons fully installed. Has anyone had any issues upgrading to FSX Acceleration, has it caused any problems? I don't want to try it and find I then have a multitude of issues, forcing an unnecessary re-install. July 5, 201114 yr I just upgraded from SP2 to Acceleration without deinstalling anything despite the SP2 which you have do remove before you install the Acceleration Pack.I upgraded because I bought the A2A B377 and I don't have problems with anything so far.GreetingsStefan Rakel
July 5, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the info. I remember reading, probably a couple of years ago, that some add-ons would not run on it. July 5, 201114 yr Is there a need to upgrade to Acceleration? I have only had sp2 for years. Will we need Acceleration for NGX?Thanks, Hi,I've been running FSX SP2 with no issues. It is a wonderful upgrade from the Service packs if you have the money. I assume your aware of what the main contents are and all that stuff. The missions and aircraft included are in my opinion a little bit nicer than your normal default aircraft and missions. The F-18 is by far the best modeled in the pack witch still lacks some features but is very fun to fly. The missions are more diverse and exciting. I haven't noticed any big glitches or crashes affiliated with the Acceleration pack. I recommend it.toothjockey-It is very likely you will need either service pack 2 installed or have the Acceleration pack installed. This is standard requirement for most addon aircraft and shouldn't be any different with the NGX. However I recommend Acceleration, i'm positive Service Pack 2 will be sufficient. Also it wouldn't hurt to have Ryan's computer. Nathan Cupps, VZAB Instructor
July 5, 201114 yr For the NGX you probably won't need it because the default FSX already supports jet-engines, what's new with the Accelerationpack is the support for Turbochargers and that stuff, that's why it is needed for the mentioned Aircraft. To be honest, other than that now I can take full advantage of the A2A Aircraft I think it is a waste of money. The Aircrafts don't statisfy my want for realistic deep simulation. The scenery is nice but not the places I personally fly to and I never fly missions.GreetingsStefan Rakel
July 5, 201114 yr Author There is an add-on that I purchased without noticing it required Acceleration. It only costs £12, so that's not an issue, I just didn't want to create issues on my nice clean install ;) Thanks for all your input, I think I will purchase it. July 5, 201114 yr If i remember correctly the LevelD 767 has some issues with the acceleration pack. The engines won't start correctly and the plane jumps after pushback causing the FMC to reset all data. But i think they have a work around since a couple of weeks. Just check out the forum if you've got this wonderful aircraft. _________________________________________________________________________ With best regards Paul Benke Athlon II X4 635 2,9GHz, Gigabyte GA870A-UD3, 2x 2GB DDR3-1333, Gainward GTX460, 2x 500GB HDD Win7 64bit, FSX SP2
July 6, 201114 yr Author Yes I have the Level-D 767. It was probably on their forum that I read about the issues with FSX Accel. I'm working my way through my add-ons to check if there are any issues, but so far all are ok or have a fix. The only issue I have seen is the "Living World Settings in LWcfg.xml are invalid. Delete LWcfg from your hidden user profile directory." error. I will install the Acceleration and see what happens. I have already cloned the drive in case of any issues. July 6, 201114 yr Commercial Member You do not need Acceleration to run the NGX - it needs SP2 *or* Acceleration. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
