July 6, 201114 yr I have finished overclocking my i7-2600k and have (i hope) completed Prime 95 testing and now since the last few days have been trying to put it through its paces with FSX + all the addons. Everything seems to be going well so far except for one anoying little glitch. I suspect it might have something to do with my overclock because it first turned up when i overclocked my i7-950 to 3800mhz. When using EzDok camera views and say hit view left, it swings left, nice and smooth to the left. Then i hit view right and again, nice and smooth. But if i hit overhead panel view or pilot in comand view etc., it pans smoothly almost all the way, then stops for a split second and then jurks to its final preset position. Kind of like a stutter or maybe that's what it is. After playing around for quite some time i finally settled on cutting back my oc from 4.5ghz to 4.4 ghz and for some reason, i get nice smooth FSX with as close to zero stutters as i've ever had.Except for this one anoying thing. Any ideas? i7-2600k @ 4.4ghz/1.28vP8P67 PRO m/bG Skill DDR3-1600-CL8D-8GB(2X4GB)EVGA-GTX460 Fact. OverclockedCM-Silent Pro-1000 PSU Rick Hobbs
July 8, 201114 yr Author Did you unassign the hat switch in the FSX controls? No it was not but is now and jurk is still there. Thanks for your suggestion though. Rick Hobbs
July 8, 201114 yr I seriously doubt it is being caused by overclocking. Bad overclocking would more likely result in a crash to desktop or a Windows crash. Most likely it is the EZDok program. Have you tried disabling the EZDok program temporarily to see if the problem still exists? I have had many issues with this program in the past and reluctant to reinstall it on my new system. I just have too many things going on to be messing around with it. I have since bought the Real3d Cockpit program as it is realistic and has neat sounds to accompany takeoff and landings that help make it appear my 737/747 is falling apart as it zips down the runway.Best regards,Jim
July 11, 201114 yr Is the zoom different between those views? I think there would be a bit of jerkiness in the transition between views if the zoom factor changed. Helge Rasmussen
July 12, 201114 yr I'm no expert but I'd try this: Do the pan that makes the screen stutter, then reset your position and do it again. Does it stutter? Iv'e found that sometimes when my view stutters it's because the textures are loading as I spontaneously view an area; then when I go back (after said textures load) it's butter again. I have a similar setup i5 2500k 4.7GHz Ruben Schuckit i5 2500k 4.5GHz GTX 560 Ti 8GB memory
July 14, 201114 yr Author Helge was right. Found it on Eric Krueger's setup videos. If you want a large zoom to lets say the FMS, then when you pan to a less zoomed view, you will get a kind of stutter. However i did buy a subscription to Angle Of Atack training for the PMDG MD-11 and one of the bonus files amungst all thier neet stuff they give you is a camera set for EzDok Camera and they seem much smoother than the set up that prompted me to post my question.
