i2600k, Hyperthreading, FS9

Featured Replies

HiWhat is the recommendation for enabling or disabling Hyper-threading with my i2600k considering that I use only FS9 and I have not set any affinity.ThanksGhiom

I would disable it cause FS9 only uses one core. And the CPU produces less heat if it´s disabled.

Best regards, Steffen

Absolutely. This and all the other HT threads on this forum! :Tounge: Seriously though, if your computer's principle use is FS9/FSX then go for higher clock with less voltage ie. HT off. You shouldn't have to tweak a thing with that CPU and FS9 except the CFG (for better quality).

More clock, the better, even for FS9.More clock also means more heat with HT.FS9/FSX don't use HT, at all.HT is only useful in programs that really use it, usually video encoding and such.

I agree; ht should be off. Not only is it less heat, but in my case, fsx has more microstutters with hyperthreading than without (even with the corresponding affinity mask settings).
