Hi all,I heard many great things about the MD-11X and so I bought it. I keep reading great frame rates, but on my system: Q9550 3.02Gz, 4 GB of RAM, XP with Scenery slider set to medium and no traffics, I get 13-14 FPS at KJFK, with clear weather in the VC. This is a new install of FSX with Acc. My resolution is 1680x1050. Is this typical, at a medium size airport, I get 16-18 FPS in the VC.ThanksVu

Hi,First at all you should add your real name to your post :wink:If you have got a Navida graphic card you might look at this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ Another way to improve fps is this nice website here: http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html The external fps limiter which was suggested there made a huge diffrence on my system. Hi Jonathan,Vu is my real first name, I was not aware of also including last name as well! Thanks for the pointers. I did use the recommended Nvidia setting via NVidia inspector and *******' setting. Seeing all the nice praise about good frame rates and not seeing it on my system is curious. I also have the Bae J41 and got 20-25 FPS in the VC. Vu Pham

Hi Jonathan,At JFK with the J41, I am averaging 18-20 fps, same with Level-D 767. I uninstalled PMDG 747, due to <10fps, so unflyable in my view. I heard that MD-11X is much better than 747, but at 13fps and without much weather at all, it's still low. Vu

What graphics card do you have? Anyway go to your card gpu's manufacturers website (nVidia) and download the latest driver. My FPS skyrocketed after a driver update.

Flying in JFK and LGA are notorious slow. I had a great machine and got 20 fps in these areas (about 1/2 as good as other airports). With new 990X CPU and 590 vidoe card 12 GB ram computer, I get >50 fps with all sliders maxed out.

Hello all,I think I found the cause, but being very new with the MD-11, I am not sure what should I do about it. The cause is that I customary load a default flight with just the default aircraft, then I ended the flight and begin with complex aircraft. By habit, I did this with the MD-11, and that why I had the frame rate drop. The cursor would become flickering and then the frame rate just hover about <10 fps. If I start FSX and go straight to MD-11, I got 20 fps which is flyable. So does MD-11 require loading of default flight? ThanksVu

Wow, looks like the 990X and GTX590 did it? So 990X really beats the Sandy Bridge i7-2600K? By the way, what's LGA? Large Airport?Vu Pham
