  1. So to further zooming into what caused all of this, it was the Terrain Level of details. It seems that for my system, setting above 100 caused freeze and stutters. For airliners, I had to lower to 80. Most of the Youtube video suggested this to be at 150. So given my system spec, why can't I use 150? Does anyone know?
  2. Ok in case someone else has this issue, it was due to DLSS. Changed back to TAA solved the problem.
  3. Hi all, Is there a location based difference when in comes to MSFS VR? I used the preset setting for High End system, DLSS/Quality and when I flew at KJFK, my flight was smooth, same with at London City. However, when I switched to VVTS (Ho Chi Minh City, default scenery) the sim stutters and froze non-stop. Is this due to MS server capacity? I tried to even reduce the Terrain details to 50 at VVTS with no change. Thanks
  4. Ok, so I have no explanation for this, but I decided to just use the preset graphic setting, first for Medium system, which removed the stutters, and then I selected High-End preset, and now the freeze is gone. The default High-End settings were higher than what I was using before, so now I am a loss on how that worked, but it did. For now the issue is gone. Thanks P.S. My PW is a 1200W one so that was not the problem.
  5. I am at a loss to know where to go next to diagnose this problem. I have tried the suggestions from Googling the net. The sim just froze and then when it unfroze the plane was thrown somewhere else.
  6. Hi everyone, After a long pause with flightsim, I recently got backto MSFS 2020 and upgraded to a RTX5090. Either MS server for 2020 is not many or something happened, since I got constant freeze of a more than 5 sec and upon the return the sim decided to put my aircraft at whatever it feels like. My settings are not ultra, with LOD: 150 and Object details at 80, bloom was off. I have plenty of headroom in the GPU, and CPU for the settings that I have had before the GPU upgrade was good. I disable MS defender scan for all MSFS folders and the executable itself. Mde sure that the firewall is allowed for MSFS and my internet DL/UL speed is fast at 1 GB/s. Therefore, I am at a lost on why this constant freeze is happening. I have not made the plunge to MSFS 2024 yet, and using VR with XP12 is fine. Is there any late development from MSFS 2020 that broke this any helps or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks P.S. I am using Win11 with the latest update, my NVIDIA driver version is the latest 591.74
  7. Like many looking for information on getting a DOF H3 or H6 (or the P series) to Canada, I found that there are scant if any information available, and those who bought, for some unknown reasons are not sharing much. Since the Black Friday discount season is here, here are some key facts to consider if you are buying from Canada: 1. Total price and shipping is in USD, so be prepared to pay for the exchange rate + 3% currency surcharge (you are better off using USD, even that DOF offers a CDN price, the CDN price will add an extra 3% on top) 2. Shipping is in 600-700 USD 3. Shipping is from Poland, which has free trade agreement with Canada, so you will not pay the 5% duties 4. You will be paying the HST or PST upon the package arriving to Canada, payable to Fedex or DHL 5. Expect 3-4 weeks shipping I hope this helps
  8. Hey guys, I have been away from flight sim for a while. I just dusted off MSFS 2020 and then I am thinking about MSFS 2024: where is it currently in November 2025? Is it worth it to bother with an upgrade yet, or I am better off to wait longer. When I fly it's exclusively VR, so I am also interested on that too. Thanks in advance.
  9. Great shots. Just curious, since you are using MSE, how's the FPS, smoothness etc? Much better than using the sim's texture and autogen? I also assume you are using FSX. Thanks
  10. Hmm, interesting. Do you have this performance with payware airport sceneries, or you don't use them? I have a 60 Hz 2560x1600, so not 4K. I wonder any trick with that one.
  11. Yes, please do. While I decide whether I should spend more money on this hobby or not. So far thousands have been spent on HW/Add-ons The only constant seems to be more money, and of course with every update, more time tweaking dealing with issues due to the update. Don't get me wrong, the developer should be compensated fairly for what they offer and the price you are willing to pay is the perceived value of what you pay for. Ever since I made the move to P3D, I have seen the same song and dance: more money because it's a constantly evolved platform. Then I will come back in 5 years when I have more time and hopefully by then there is a good performing sim platform that I can then spend money on and have something good in return. The fact that it's more expensive in P3D also means that there are less people buying stuffs for it. Not all simmers can afford to be on the latest hw and have unlimited fund. You charge what the market is willing to pay, and right now for my corner I found this latest pricing strategy a confirmation that the trend is that P3D is more and more for the people who have money to spend. At some point I will have to stop and evaluate. I guess that time is now for me. Enjoy AS2016 everyone.
  12. Well, at least have the same price for each platform. Sure I can live with having to pick one platform instead of a dual license, but an upgrade price of 39.99 for P3D versus 29.99 for FSX? :Shame On You:
  13. Side note, I don't know why they stopped. CZST was supposed to be their test product. This can only mean that the money is not there. That's just too bad because I want more airports like that for PNW in XPX.
  14. That's is excellent news. I wonder how will this GTN compare with the Flight1 version.
  15. May be the mod will move it  btw, the KTNP is part of ORBX SoCal or is it another payware? Looks nice. I have not even downloaded 3.3 yet, still on the fence.
  16. Very nice. Is that P3D 3.2 or 3.3? I will also need to find time to fly too. Have been too busy for almost two months.
  17. Ah, the urge of new toys  FSX-SE does offer a few new things, namely the better recompiled code and I found it more stable than the old BOX edition. Most of your current add-ons will work just fine. FSX-SE uses the Steam platforms so if there is bug fixes, they are available. Plus if you will change the Windows OS in the future, FSX-SE will continue to be supported whereas the box edition is pretty much dead in future support. As for me, I am still looking for a sim that will look good, have really good env effect like shadows and run smoothly, has all the niceties, (no XPX ain't it) , alas I am still looking.
  18. They have the "banana" ;-) I hear you. The GTN750 still has no VNAV but it has the other two features. Unfortunately, other than buying the Carenados and stuff in a GTN750 and then put up with their other incomplete stuffs, you are very limited to the ES 750 and nothing else at the moment. You could get the PMDG 737 and paint it in "bizjet" liveries (there are a couple of 737-600 and 737-700 variant that is quite nice. I found the lack of VNAV in the Mustang ok, force me to think and calculate my own descend and hand fly the thing. Sure it's not as complete as the real thing, but apparently programming VNAV into the unit is too much work for F1 for the money they think they can make. Many people just want the pretty shells, fly a few rounds, next...
  19. Hmm, is this a permanent solution or a temporary work-around? I have not moved up to 3.3 yet, and so far I don't see any advantage in doing so.
  20. Good thread. My current planes: F1 Mustang, F1 B200, RealAir Duke Turbine and RealAir Legacy, ES CitationX and soon MilViz 350i. All of my PMDG, Airbus, A2A are in virtual hangar. No time for PMDG, Airbus, A2A is too much work. All my carenados are in the PC dust bin, I have not thrown them out because of the money I paid. I also keep scenery to minimum: ORBX regions only, FSDT, Flight Beam, SimsAddons, selected FlyTampa. That's it.
  21. Hmm, I have not flown it nor update it for a few weeks in P3D 3.1. Hopefully your issue is resolved soon.
  22. The Mustang hang for you in P3D? Which version is that?
  23. Which sim are you using? P3D? Nevermind, I see that you posted in fsx forum.
  24. So you are using P3D V3.3.5 for day to day flights? My system is an i7-2700K o/c to 4.8 Ghz paired with a GTX980. The P3D cfg file contains only one tweak: FiberFrameFraction=0.01. I am still on P3D v3.1 however. I use ASN, ORBX regions, Global, FSDT, UTX and REX. The microstutters are always with ORBX around airport scenery take-off and landing, in cruise I don't have stutters. I only use RealAir, A2A and Flight 1 aircrafts. Thanks
