JS41 Key Lost

Featured Replies

I've recently had to reinstall FSX for my new system build. I made an over sight by backing up the JS41 installation but not backing up the notepad file with my key in it. Upon trying to log into the Precision Manuals site for support/possible key retrieval, I apparantly don't have an email on file there... So no key, no email with the key in it, and no way of retrieving it.Am I stuck buying another one? (I won't, but I really want to get her installed if I can remedy my irresponsibility.)

Just send them an email with your data and see if they can help you...

Thanks guys. But as stated previously, I don't have an email on file, which means no user login. And without the original email I have no data besides my name.

Fair enough! Lol. I'm being captain obvious today! The reason I post here is for a PMDG Rep to tell me rather or not I can be helped... I'll post my results later.

Zach, shop and support portal are independent from each other. Even if you don't have any e-mail saved on your shop account (don't know how this is even possible) you can still register at the support portal and get support. Once they have your name and address they should be able to help you.

Precisely what I wanted to hear! I haven't bought a product from PMDG since the JS41's release, and before that I bought things on mom's credit card. Yeah, that long ago. :( Because of that I couldn't remember.

Zach-I see an account for you in eCommerce. Log into eCommerce using the email address that you registered with us and you'll be able to see your key.

Thank you! That makes it easy! I've closed my support ticket.Maybe this will answer the question for someone else if they're as absent minded as I can be.

For anyone else reading I had a problem with my J41 key recently too. Thankfully PMDG helped me and very quickly. I have for my sins about 5-7 computers here. Two are in bits and one is a MAC Mini so only 4 PC`s are working though I borrowed the PSU off one as no spare, but none being very powerful. As a system builder of old I network them all and often swap my main machine about as I get either AMD or Intel parts. In doing so the key ran out because I`d made so many changes in the past. My 747 hasn`t had this problem yet but I use the J41 more so I guess thats why it happened.I have a new CPU coming hopefully tomorrow so I may be facing the problem again. Its only a 3 gig E6600 but still better than the 2gig AMD chip I have in currently, though it seems to manage well enough-being a quad core. This means another case and motherboard change from my collection, plus borrow the PSU, memory and DVD drive as I blew the last PSU in a thunderstorm or shortly after, so I`ll be facing someones wrath at PMDG again lol. Now I spent the 737 NGX money so I`ll have to scrimp some more. I thought I`d have enough time to pull it back and took the chance it wouldn`t get released yet so I`d swap the CPU out just now.Steve Brooks
