Hello,i m an addon developer . I start this thread to propose a new feature that i ll see very useful for Microsoft Flight.I ll be happy if in Flight there will be a new chance to use a simil XBOX Live system for trace a career of a sim pilot. I ll be happy if there will be a Microsoft virtual airline(and also already 3rd party virtual airlines) based on new Live! mechanism.Otherwise i hope that Microsoft Flight team will provide a subset of API for leave 3rd party developer to create new content linked with Live System( for example new tools for manage careers, new tool for manage flight hours and so...).I ll see in my mind a future for MS Flight connected to all virtual airlines in a native way with SDK Live and with a full integration with the subsystem.I hope that it will be read from MS Product manager or developers.GrazieFabio [email protected]

"Career Mode" was one of the features that was being developed by the now defunct ACES team for FSvNext. It was going to be awesome!Whether "Flight" is being planned to incorporate this is totally unknown at this time, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if it does show up... :(

I definitely expect it to be included, and it may be a very prominent feature of MS Flight if added. I've always wanted this to be included with every FS in the past, it makes so much sense! It adds much more re-playability to the game. I believe it would be silly if MS did not include this in Flight, especially if they're broadening there intended audience. I think we should be rewarded for our time and effort spent flyingrolleyes.gif Plus it could possibly add to idea of being able to compare and share your achievements with others!THAT just reminded me, I'm going to start a new topic about achievements. smile.gifJamie ♥

*btw, when using the term 'game' it is an umbrella term, it also includes simulation and racing games, and everything in-between. Do not twist my words.

"A video game is an electronic form of play that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device" - the definition of the word "videogame", game is the common shorthand for videogame. Just being clear.

I would love a career mode ... what were some of the features in the ACES development plan?

Gosh, it's been so long that I've thrown away my notes from the developer's conference. There wasn't much point in hanging on to them for a DBA (Dead Before Arrival) product, eh?In brief however, it was planned to begin with various entry points depending on the user's prior experience. The lowest entry point of course would have been as a student pilot, and then expand into various "career paths" depending on the user's preference.Private Pilotsingle, multi, etc.Pro Pilotsingle, multi, jet, etc.cargo, regional, major carrier, etc.It was to be a persistent system, that also allowed for either local or multi-player experiences.

This is a very useul things.... i hope it will be...Bill in your opinion (if the system it remains the same) how i can ask for partecipate in MS Flight dev conference ?I m an indie developer ....CiaoFabio

Well i would like to see this career mode also . lets say you install the sim and at first you would have to start from 0 hours and have a choise of picking your trainer c172 piper or the like and advance to other AC as you complete the training . YEAH YEAH i know some people want to jump to a airliner because you were siming for years but if you can flight the plane well than go tru the proces and get the training done so that acces to a biger AC will be lets say unlock.

Since there is no "MS Flight dev conference" at this time, I suppose you'll have to wait just like the rest of us for some announcement and/or invitation. To be honest though, I don't expect that there will ever be such a thing. The all-to-brief era of "openness" seems to have suffered the same fate as the late ACES folks... :(
