August 4, 201114 yr Hi, If this is the wrong forum for this kind of topic redirect me.... I am flying with Ryan Air on Saturday 6th of August too Malta from DUB. I have booked reserved seating and the seat I have booked is seat 16A, Is this an emergency exit seat on Ryan Air? and can I stow my bag under the seat in front of me or not? I have flown with Ryan Air numerous times but I have never taken into account the instructions for the seats over the wings.
August 4, 201114 yr See here: http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Ryanair/Ryanair_Boeing_737-800.php. Seems like 16A is in the row in front of the exit - you want rows 17 or 18 for an exit on one of their 737-800s (and I don't think they operate anything else these days). Having said that, I thought Ryanair only let you reserve exit row seats, so maybe best check with them. As to bags under seats, I'm tempted to make some smart comment about that being where they stow unaccompanied minors, but Mr O'Leary would probably sue me. Can't see why it would be a problem.
August 4, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the reply Tim. All I need is some extra leg room as I am 6ft 3. Im hoping It's not an emergency exit!!
August 6, 201114 yr You get more room on emergency exit rows. You don't want to be sitting in front of them though. Chris Miller
August 6, 201114 yr You get more room on emergency exit rows. You don't want to be sitting in front of them though. I never have a problem sitting next to them or anywhere else on an airplane.I never worry about the remote likeliness of something happening on an airplane. August 6, 201114 yr I never have a problem sitting next to them or anywhere else on an airplane.I never worry about the remote likeliness of something happening on an airplane. Neither am I. The exit rows have more room because people have to be able to make it out if there is an emergency. To make this happen they spread the distance between them and the seats in front of the row are made in a fixed position so they can't recline. This gives you more comfort when you are in these exit seats. One this I just experienced on Allegiant Airlines was that they moved the seat pocket up to the top of the airplane and made room for my legs to fit! Chris Miller
