  1. A small mistake with the last update, it’ll be fixed with 1.0.6.
  2. it’s not there because almost no phenom in operation has AT, it was only properly made available by embraer in January (the embraer one not aftermarket options) so the dev couldn’t get data on it. It will be implemented once they gather enough data as more operators start using it.
  3. The fsr500 already had this simulated in msfs2020. The aircraft reads notams from simbrief for the area it will be flying from and to and if the notams specify birds for the area the chances of having a bird strike increase by a lot. If it happens it’s a loud bang with the windscreen becoming destroyed with no visibility. The aircraft also depressurises.
  4. That would only be a fair comparison if the Phenom would have a single pre-release video (the trailer) and nothing more, but that clearly won’t be the case. As Raul has already stated, there will be additional videos showcasing the aircraft and its features throughout the pre-release period. In fact, Raul spent nearly an hour on a livestream less than three days ago demonstrating the Phenom and discussing its systems and features in detail. There was nothing “cinematic” about that, it was simply a developer passionately showcasing his work. You also bring up Black Square as a comparison, yet several of their pre-release videos are cinematic trailers as well. Here is an example of one that I personally enjoyed: https://youtu.be/bY8jZnOi4M0?si=o30CZnQE6iVAs2Ip I don’t understand the need to judge someone so harshly based solely on one pre-release video, especially when more content is still to come. Personally, I’m happy to appreciate what we’ve received as an initial showcase while looking forward to the more in-depth videos that will follow.
  5. Yes systems are modelled. It’ll have failures. And yes circuit breakers will be modelled and functional.
  6. It is now available in the marketplace.
  7. I was a flight attendant on a 737 800 for over a year and the first ding on that aircraft and specific airline was to tell the cabin crew it's safe to release from the jump seats
  8. True, my first landing didn't go that well for that exact reason, as I was oblivious to the fact that this airplane makes is seem like it's higher than it actually is. Meanwhile I've sorted my touchdown noise problem, I've got an expensive headset with its own sound hub which has a surround sound option enabled by a button which I assumed had nothing to do with sound levels, after going through the manuals I've disabled it and the sounds are much clearer now! I do apologise for this post as the problem was on my end.
  9. Ahh motion sickness, seen many people book off sick on their simulator assessment days because of it, for me the initial 30 minutes are always the worst part, as my body seems to be expecting different motions, and sometimes I even position my body in antecipation of a movement that doesn't come as expected. Eventually I adjust myself to it. Hopefully your check ride was completed with no issues! Thanks for the info on the 747 sim, interesting stuff! I was unware that the discrepancies were that accentuated in the aviation industry simulators!
  10. I have nothing to complain about the Dc 6 model, I've never flown a real one, and it seems amazing to me. I was just saying that the life size train simulators in which I do regular checks behave nothing like the real life counterpart, and if it is so hard to simulate a train, I can only imagine how hard it must be to simulate an airplane, which in my opinion PMDG did fantastically well! I'm sorry if my post came the wrong way, I was in no way complaining about the airplane or even talking about it, just sharing my real life experience with expensive full size simulators!
  11. Ah this made laugh. I'm a train driver and believe it or not we do spend a good amount of time inside of full size simulators which mimic the real train cabs, we regularly have to go for checks were we might spend time practicing procedures, doing train handling, emergencies, dealing with faults and failures etc etc... And you would think that a train, being something that goes on rails would be easy to simulate considering the millions it costs for a single one of those simulator units. However I've yet to meet a train driver which will claim that the simulator handles like the real train, I can assure you it doesn't. If it is so hard to simulate a train and its behaviour, I can only imagine how hard it must be to simulate an airplane which will run on my personal computer and make it feel similar to the real thing.
  12. Thanks! Will give it a try!
  13. I don't know if this is a problem on my end, or if someone else has asked the question already, and I apologise in advance if that's the case. The problem is that the touchdown effects, be it the sounds or any visual clues based on vibrations etc etc are too subtle, to the point that in one of my landings I really struggled to know if I was on the ground or still "flaring". Is there something I could do to make the touchdown more noticeable?
  14. Enjoying flight simulation in every platform, hoping that all developers publish products for every platform in the market so that our hobby keeps growing. That's what I want. If I'm not mistaken it was one of your posts in which you or someone with the same username was quite vocal about the dc-6 flaws that led me to that particular stream. I personally didn't find many flaws in the airplane despite some minor stuff that requires work, and I've only stated my opinion about that stream, which seemed unnecessarily aggressive towards minor or non existent flaws. In the end all I want is that PMDG keeps developing airplanes for xplane, and FSX, and P3D, as naturally we'll all benefit from it one way or another.
  15. I did see that stream, at least the part where he went on and on about the engines and the cowl flaps, if it was the same stream the guy is allegedly an airplane engineer (which is per se a very broad statement, or title) however his explanations seemed to be based on futile expectations fiting the purpose of a basic and general understanding of how a radial works, and indirectly assuming (at least from my point of view) that all the engines are the same. Shame that some people take opinions for facts, especially if It meets the momentum some communities seem to gain related to outsiders, bordering on tribalism...
  16. Sim, de Lisboa , mas há muito fora do país. Thanks, X-Plane night environment is absolutely stunning, especially with RTH lights!
  17. Moved by the DC-6 for X-Plane development by PMDG, and in anticipation of glimpsing its VC for the first time, a couple of weeks ago I did something I never thought I would. I bought X-Plane. After years and years of Microsoft flight simulator, preceded by countless hours of fun with the amazing FLY! series, I reached a point were I was happy with the sim. FSX was finally working flawlessly on my machine, and considering the amount of high end addons for sale (I admit I own quite a few, especially from PMDG and A2A) I felt compelled to stay with FSX forever. Please note that FSX is, and will be installed on my computer for as long as I keep flying virtual airplanes, however this isn't about comparing two simulators, it is about explaining how it was incredibly rewarding for me to spend the last few weeks learning the ins and outs of a new platform, and obtaining results I never thought I would. Since I needed an advanced aircraft to properly understand how X-plane would behave with a complex airplane, and the Dc-6 was a few weeks away, I've bought the IXEG 737 and spent a few hours learning both the airplane and the sim while searching and installing loads of freeware content which greatly improved my experience. Basically, the interface isn't as easy to use as the FSX interface, the view options and controls are quite hard to set up properly, but I found so many tutorials online that after one hour or so I was using the sim as a pro. I've found it to perform reasonably well on my system, with some limitations mostly related to clouds which do affect performance if not correctly set. I love the fact that it is possible to change the time of the day, and weather without the sim having to load anything, it is an instantaneous process. As I said I won't compare the two simulators, I can only say that I'm happy with my choice and I now have two different platforms with a multitude of addons ready to be explored. After the DC-6 release I haven't flown anything else, it is simply amazing, and especially, a joy to hand-fly (by my personal experience all the advanced addons I've bought for X-Plane handle incredibly well during manual flight), and I've covered several thousands of miles mostly going up and down Portugal with it, loving every moment so far. I'll leave you some of my latest screenshots, please note that apart from the airplanes, everything else including scenery is freeware, which surprised me considering the quality (Real terra haze, Spain UHD, and some airports). So, in the end it was quite easy to adapt to this platform, the planes behave fantastically, the DC-6 as expected is a work of art, and if you're undecided about whether or not you should get X-plane for one airplane only, all I can say is that it is quite easy to make X-plane look amazing without spending any money, considering the quality of the freeware, and there are already some excellent airplanes for the platform, with detailed systems and fantastic flight dynamics. There is a learning curve, mostly regarding the user interface, but it isn't as bad as some people claim, nothing that a few tutorials won't solve. To PMDG, thank you for another excellent airplane, and for giving me a good reason to try X-plane.
  18. Yep, I was flying into dub yesterday and it was pretty bad.. It become even worse when I noticed a few ex malev 737's with no engines parked on a remote stand :(. The capt told me they've been there for some time now, but I've actually never noticed them before, maybe because it was the first time I landed in dub during the day in months, gotta love late shifts...
  19. It could be bad publicity, but usually when they say something stupid as paying to use the toilet, at the same time they also make a sell of a million tickets for one euro, and usually both things go on the news at the same time as they do both announcements on the same day..So you obviously want to read about the toilet thing as it is something bizarre, and in the related news you end up seeing the article about the one euro ticket..It's a surprisingly smart way of getting free publicity, just like they did when they said they were trying to operate the aircraft using only one pilot (we all know this would never happen, and so do they...)
  20. It's simple, the captain said "emergency descent" three times to allert the cabin crew as it needs to be done and of course with all the stress the passenger associated it to "mayday" as he couldn't understand..No captain in the world would scream mayday over the pa system. Oh and it's free to use the toilet in Ryanair, and so are the sick bags. That thing about paying to use the toilet was just another smart way of getting free publicity for Ryanair over the media hype. Those guys are smarter than they look.
  21. Sometimes the same ac during the same day has different MTOW,the engineer comes on board and changes the plate on the cockpit just next to the door according to the necessities of the airport you're flying into etc etc, it's not a fixed value...
  22. Use the ident function and cross check the morse code obtained with the one in the chart.Sorry for the quick reply,on a cell phone

Row 16 it's an emergency exit row yes,and no you can't keep any hand luggage under the seat in front of you.
  24. Do you have this problem after take off while flying manually and following the f/d??if so do you have cutback selected?and do you have vnav engaged?or is it happening with all the automation selected and during other flight phase?
